There's a first time for everything.....

This blog has always served the purpose of documenting what my kids are up to so it can be somewhat of a baby book for them, but today I am using it to get your ideas and suggestions! In the very short future I will have my last day as a working mom and we will be celebrating with a family vacation....yeah! We will be going to Cape Canaveral, Florida and staying at a great resort with tons of fun things for the kids to do! And on the last day we are going to surprise Brody with a trip to Disney World. I have been looking forward to this vacation for a while now since it is the first family vacation we have gone on (except Branson before Meg was born), but I am also kind of nervous about flying (which I hate) with my wiggle worm, Meg.

So I need your tips! For those of you who have flown with little ones what are the essential things to do when flying? What stuff do you take on the plane? We will have a DVD player so that should help, but I know others probably have even more fantastic ideas!

Thanks in advance for your help!

Oh girl, flying with kids is different each and every time. My children have flown so often that they quite literally have their own frequent flier cards. When they were little I learned that feeding a meal before getting on the plane is a bad idea. I brought lots of slow snacks, because as long as they are nibbling, they aren't crying. Stickers, pretend jewelry, a purse full of things that they are allowed to pull out and investigate and play with. Pray for a nap, but do NOT expect one!

I totally agree with Andrea. Slow snacks and drinks and toys your can pull out on at a time. Go ahead and start working on your kiddos wearing headphones.
