The Varner Family going on a vacation is a BIG deal and in honor of the BIG event I have one BIG post! Us going on a vacation is a big deal because 1) We have never been on an actual vacation with kids, 2)I love family vacations and have such fond memories of them growing up and want my kids to experience the same thing, and 3)I hate flying worse than anything and it was the first time for me to get on a plane in over 5 years!!! I had been planning this vacation for some time and was excited when my mom's school decided to let school out a week early because of budgetary concerns and so they were able to join us. I was excited to have the help, to get to spend time with them, and to get to benefit from dad's military discount at the hotels :)!
Our flight was leaving at 3:50 pm on Thursday. My Megs goes to bed at 6:30 each night so I knew it would be a little scary! The first flight went ok but none of my planned "activities" for her on the plane worked. She could care less about the snacks or all the little toys I had brought. She did watch a little Barney but that was it! Thankfully on the second flight mom got Meg to sleep and she slept the whole way to Orlando!

Brody on the other hand was the most amazing little traveler. He was fascinated with flying and entertained himself the entire time. We rolled into Orlando about 10:00 and after getting our rental car and driving to Cape Canaveral we got to the resort at midnight!

Poor Brody couldn't take it! He fell asleep on the way to the resort!

One of the reasons we decided to go to Cape Canaveral during this time was because on Friday afternoon the Space Shuttle Atlantist would be launching! We watched it on Cocoa Beach and it was amazing!

Meg wasn't sure about the pool at first but she warmed up to it quickly!

And she LOVED the beach
