On Monday of our vacation we got up early and headed to Orlando! We told Brody we were going to another hotel but didn't give very many details. He was anxious and just couldn't understand why we would've left the wonderful resort we were at! Poor Meg had a horrible night Sunday and was not her normal self when it came to sleeping. She woke up at 3:00 a.m. and NEVER went back to sleep. Not the kind of sleep baby or momma needs when you are going to see these guys!

When we pulled into Disney World we tried to see if Brody could guess where we were at! I could tell he thought he knew but just wasn't sure and so he wouldn't say it! His reaction was so sweet! He was very happy! And we were all happy when we saw the sign to the Magic Kingdom where we would be spending the day. First we went to Shades of Green (the resort for military families) and checked in and then took the shuttle and then the monorail to actually get to the Magic Kingdom entrance. It was crazy to me how much work it is just to get to the park!

Because Brody was so anxious to get there and it was taking SO long I tried to find the first ride I could that he could ride and it happened to be the speedway. He LOVED it. The bad thing is that is all he wanted to do the rest of the day! Maybe I should've picked something not so cool for the first ride. But we were doing the Magic Kingdom with absolutely no plan and no preparation......big mistake!

After enjoying a few rides including the Haunted Mansion (which I am still shocked that both of my kids managed to do with no screaming and/or crying) and It's A Small World we decided to catch some lunch. Meg was ready to eat, or so I thought. About 3 minutes after sitting down to eat we noticed she was doing something funny in her highchair. After looking a little closer she was FALLING ASLEEP! This has NEVER happened with either of my children. I have tons of pictures of me asleep in plates of food when I was little but my kids are a little different story. After laughing and getting out the video camera to record the special moment I decided to get her stroller and take a little nap. I was so excited because I knew she would be asleep for a while and we could really enjoy the park. Wrong again!!!
Bumpy decided to watch Meg while we took Brody to ride the railroad rollercoaster. The line ended up taking over an hour and Brody was having a serious tummy ache and a meltdown at the same time. It was a little bit of a nightmare! We made it and after passing Joe Castigilone in line we road the rollercoaster and Brody loved it. When we caught up with Bumpy he said that Meg only slept 5 minutes. Thankfully he was able to keep her happy while we were in line for so long. Next up was Splash Moutain!

Look at that grip Brody has on the handlebar!

Bumpy found some Mickey Mouse ears laying on the ground and asked around to see whose they were and nobody claimed them. Great! Free souvenir for Brody! He loved them!

After Splash Moutain Brody found a great spot to watch the parade. That was actually one of the highlights for both kids. They loved it. Especially the marching band! Too bad we had some crazy lady by us who acted like she was 10 seeing cartoon characters for the first time. I wanted to tell her to get a hold of herself, but figured that might not be a good idea. I have never seen an adult so excited about a parade. I think she took a million pictures of all the princesses!

During the parade the sky started to look ominous and about 5 minutes later Disney World turned into this. A wet mess!

Meg found a try spot in Toon Town

And after the rides reopened Bryson and Brody were the first ones on the Toon Town rollercoaster

Then it was back to the race track

And then to cool off under the mister

And then to Infinity and Beyond (or whatever the Buzz Lightyear ride is called). It was probably the coolest one of all!

And after a few more rides and finally getting Meg the balloon she had wanted all day we were ready to put the kids to bed. We got to the park around 10 and left around 8:00. We were exhausted!

Brody was a trooper and still happy on the way back to the hotel!

So happy to go put my kids to bed at this wonderful hotel. Just wish we could've actually enjoyed all of the beautiful amenities! Maybe next time!

The Magical Kingdom is a magical place but it is also a crazy, busy, stressful, and chaotic place. When I go back I will make sure I......
1). Spend at least 5 days
2). Never take a child under 3 that doesn't sit in a stroller
3). Take a lot of snacks/drinks into the park
4). Stay at a Disney Resort
5). Go when it is cold
6). Get to the park when it opens, leave at lunch, and come back after dinner
7). I will have a plan
After we put the kids to bed Bryson and I went back for the extended park hours and stayed until 12:30. I was so cranky and really shouldn't have been allowed into Disney World with my attitude. But, I did get to see the electric parade which was awesome and ride the Magic Carpet Ride, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Space Mountain. Our plane left around 10:00 the next morning and we had a good plane ride home. At least now I know we CAN take family vacations and they are so worth all the trouble!
