This years Mother's Day was another wonderful day! Actually it ended up being an entire week of celebration! It started with Brody's Mothers Day Tea Party at Gingerbread. I had been looking forward to this morning for a long time. I enjoyed it so much last year and knew that it would be even more fun this year because Brody is older! His school does such a great job of making it a special time for the moms and I would be lying if I said I didn't get a little teary eyed while I was there. My little boy is so big now and I think he is the most precious little thing ever!
The Tea Party started with Brody greeting me at the door and escorting me to my seat. They have very little space so he got to sit on my lap for about the next 20 minutes....which I loved! Then each child stood up and introduced their mommy. Last year he had trouble doing this, but not this year! After that all of the kids proceeded to the front of the room for a performance!

He was SO excited about performing all of the Gingerbread songs

Last year he didn't sing at all. He just stood very still in his spot and never smiled.

But not this year! He sang the entire time. He knew the motions and the words and I loved every minute of the 10 minute performance. My arm about fell off from videotaping it all but I didn't want to miss any of it!

The end of the "I love somebody but I don't know who" song when they finally point at who it is they love! Then he brought me a daisy! So sweet. Then he served me a snack and a drink and we sat and enjoyed talking to his friend Cooper and his mom Mandie!

He also gave me a beautiful flower he had planted and a picture he drew. I just loved it all. Meg and Brody's Mothers Day Out teachers were just as sweet to help the kids make gifts for me. Brody made this great picture of me and then filled in the blanks to a story about me. It cracked me up to see his answers. According to Brody my favorite TV show is the news and my favorite place to shop is Wal-Mart! And my favorite food is rice! Who knew??? I love seeing what his little mind thinks and his perspective on things! And Meg's teachers made the cutest little book with pictures of her at school and of her with her friends. It was precious. I know those teachers work so hard and it means so much!
Brody not only worked hard on my Mother's Day presents he also did a lot of painting for his grandmas and great-grandmas. He was very particular about who got what. He painted some pots and planted flowers in them and he also painted a birdhouse. Getting him to sit still to do artsy stuff is hard so I was very proud of him for working on these and I think it made all the grandmas happy to receive something handmade! The whole weekend was fantastic and Bryson made it wonderful for me. And I think my favorite part of all was him surprising me with a super organized garage. I think he is starting to learn my love language!

We must have the same love language--acts of service! Sounds like a great mother's day!
