First Things First
Meg had her ear surgery on December 4th. The surgery was very easy and quick. She was VERY unhappy immediately afterwards, which really alarmed me. The two times Brody has been sedated for his colonoscopies he woke up very sleepy and sweet. Meg was a little firecracker! Thankfully all it took was taking her to get some breakfast and letting her take a 3 hour nap and she was pretty much good to go! We haven't seen the dramatic difference that so many other parents have reported, but she is doing much better. Her ears continue to have fluid in them because we can't seem to get rid of her snotty nose and we are having some issues with drainage and blood from her left ear. But overall things are great! We go back on January 4th for her hearing test and we are very anxious for that!
Meg pre-surgery. All the nurses just loved her PJ's.
Other News
She is so close to walking! She has taken a step at a time here and there and will stand on her own for pretty long periods of time. She now cruises along the hallways and kitchen cabinets instead of just furniture. There is just something about this that is so exciting to me. I didn't care if Brody walked, but I just envision a much easier life once she can. I think she is frustrated that she can't walk and that she is getting bored with her usual activities. She sees Brody and her cousins running around and she really wants to join them.
She loves my laptop. I honestly don't even get it out when she is awake unless it is absolute nessecity. It is the one thing that if you don't let her have it she will get so mad.
Bryson is hoping that she is going to be the next Taylor Swift. She really loves music and one of Bryson's sure fire ways of entertaining her is to break out the guitar. She even likes when Brody plays his recorder, piano, and beat on the trash can like it is a drum. Tonight Brody had Bryson's tuner out and Meg got a hold of it and actually could make noises with it. I was impressed. Needless to say she is getting some musical type stuff for Christmas!
