First of all...this sweet girl turned 10 months old today! We can't believe it is only two months until her first birthday. But before that we have Christmas and Bryson's big 30th birthday bash. I have a feeling I am going to be super busy for a couple of months!
10 month highlights
*Went for Meg's hearing test this week. I sat in the soundproof room with her while Bryson waited outside the room with the audiologist. I have never participated in a hearing test and found it all very interesting. I quickly could tell that Miss Meg was not doing well the test but didn't know what was considered "normal". Well come to find out she has had significant hearing loss as a result of the ear infections and fluid in her ears. The good news is that the audiologist is very hopeful that after she gets tubes her hearing will return to normal. We are sure it will too! She will be getting tubes on December 4th and has a hearing test on January 4th!
*Her hearing issue doesn't seem to be affecting her language development though. She just chats up a storm is constantly adding new "words" to her vocabulary. This especially excites me since Brody was never much of a talker. She is now saying a word that sounds like dog! And she still says mama and dada a lot!
*Another thing that really excites me is Meg's love of books. There is just nothing she likes more than a book that has pictures of real babies in it and even better if it is a peek-a-boo book.
*Playing peek-a-boo is her absolute favorite game. She will get the biggest cheesiest grin on her face. Other things that really delight her are finding toys that Brody is playing with and doing everything she can do get them, her daddy playing guitar for her, toys that have doors that she can open and close, crawling/cruising underneath the dining room table, being thrown up in the air, bath time, and Brody blowing on her tummy!
*Eating/sleeping have not been great lately. I am crossing my fingers that it is just a result of her ears! Her favorite new food is mini vanilla wafers....yummy!
*She drinks some water out of a sippy cup, but don't try to give her a "baby" sippy cup. She prefers that cups Brody drinks out of!
Trip to Papa and Nanas
Last Sunday me and the kids headed to Pauls Valley for Papa's (Bryson's dad) birthday. Papa had a little surprise for Brody. He has a friend that recently built an incredible playground for his 6 grandkids and we went over to try it out! And boy was it something! Brody is usually slow to warm up to people and is not very affectionate, even with the people who he loves!!! But he found a fast friend in Mick! He would only let Mick push him on the swing and play with him. And when it was time to leave he gave him a big hug without me having to tell him to!
Thanksgiving Fun
We celebrated Thanksgiving first on Wednesday night with Gran B, Aunt B, and GG. Brook and Barbara prepared a great meal that was so yummy! Unfortunately both kids were not at their finest that night and so I have no pictures to show! Thankfully Thanksgiving Day went a lot better!
