Christmas Fun

As I said in my previous post, getting ready for Christmas with two kids is difficult! And on top of just getting ready for it I am trying to start some special traditions and make it a lot of fun for Brody since he is at an age where he is excited about it and can participate in the activities! We have always had a countdown calendar (even when I was little and my sister and I would race each morning to see who got to move the marker), but this year I put a different activity in each day. Below are a few pictures from some of the activities we have done so far!

The sugar cookies we baked. We always did these with my mom growing up and I loved them! Pretty sure that my mom's dough and icing were made from scratch and mine was all store bought, but Brody loved doing them and they tasted great!

Headed to pick out our Christmas Tree
Picking out our Christmas Tree at Home Depot. It was a bad night to pick out a tree. It was cold and rainy, but we were determined to get it done! Too bad the Home Depot guy wasn't the best picture taker!

Our Gingerbread Tree

Putting the star on the tree before any of the rest of it was decorated!

Just finished writing his letter to Santa. The letter said that he wanted a new bike with breaks on the handle bars, a 4-wheeler, a Jeep with two seats, a gun, and a new monster truck. Pretty sure the monster truck is the only thing Santa is bringing him.
