Mom snapped this picture of us right outside our apartment on our way to eat dinner. I absolutely loved that everything was within walking distance. After spending hours in the car each day at Yellowstone we all loved that we didn't get in a car for two days!
After a great nights sleep we got up and walked to Starbucks and enjoyed breakfast outside. Mimi had a flight to catch later that morning so we had to get her back to the hotel to catch the car to the airport!
Standing outside the apartment on our way out for a day of exploring!
We rode the free street bus down a few blocks and found this great outdoor park. They had a great variety of free games including mini golf, bean bag toss, bocce ball and ping pong. Brody and Meg went crazy over these games and it was basically all they wanted to do the entire time we were in Denver.
We grabbed a to go lunch and then went back to the apartment. It was so nice to have so much space and the kids could eat and watch tv and I could do laundry and read. We definitely rested up. Later that afternoon we went to Barnes and Noble and just enjoyed reading books and browsing!
Then it was time for our big outing. The Denver area salesman for Bryson's company is the former pitcher for the Colorado Rockies. He was so nice to let us stay in the apartment and also got us great tickets to the Rockies game. Brody insisted on getting suited up in new Rockies gear. He had met Roger a couple of weeks before when he was in OKC and after that meeting and then going to the Rockies game Brody is definitely his #1 fan!!!
We had amazing seats!
The kids enjoyed the batting and pitching cages!
This girl didn't enjoy baseball near as much as her brother. I had to work hard to keep her occupied so that Brody could stay and enjoy the game. We left the game before it was over because I was a little nervous about getting back to the apartment too late at night since we would be walking Downtown and then taking the bus. Well something ended up happening and the bus was not running. So the kids and I were just standing on a corner waiting and waiting with strange people walking all around us. And at just the right time this sweet lady from Georgia and her son came up and were in the same boat as us. We ended up all walking together for many many block! Eventually a bus finally appeared and we made it home safe and sound!
The next morning we ate Starbucks again and then went back to the park for more games!
The view from the balcony of the apartment. It was so hard to leave such a wonderful place but we hit the road and headed to Cheyenne, Wyoming for Gran B's family reunion!
We made it about dinner time and the kids got a quick swim in before it was time to hit the sack!
