We had big plans for the 4th of July! We were heading to Shawnee for a backyard party with the Melots....or that's what everyone thought it was. Someone had filled me in on a little secret and I had actually managed to keep it a secret!

They had so many fun outdoor games! Bryson and Melot were in an intense Jenga battle. I'm not exactly sure who won but whoever it was ended up being accused of cheating!

It's crazy that I babysat Madalynne when she was a baby and now she is a Sophomore in college!

So a lot of people were told that Melot was going to propose to Rachael that evening. But instead he surprised everyone by telling them they were already engaged and would be having the wedding in 45 minutes!!! We all moved to the front of the house for the ceremony!

So the funniest thing was is that I swore I told Bryson that they were getting married but I guess I kept it a secret from even him. And I poked a little fun at mom for wearing her shorts and a t-shirt to a wedding. Haha!
I never imagined when I first met Melot as my 8th grade Science teacher that our families would end up being so close over 20 years later! It is so nice to see him so happy!
So thankful I was asked to babysit that sweet little baby all those years ago!
