The kids only had to endure a couple of weeks of school before it was finally time for the trip they had been anxiously anticipating.....Disney World with their cousins! We surprised them back in April and I know it felt like forever before it was time to leave! Bryson was in Canada with Rob and Nick hunting and the kids had a 5 day weekend for Labor Day and it was my birthday so I decided we needed to go to Disney World and thankfully my mom and sister were game for going too!
Our plane left at 6:30 a.m. so we were up bright and early. We got to the airport plenty early since we were worried about Labor Day crowds. Meg had plenty of time to do a little coloring while she waited!
The excitement is very evident on their faces! The kids were awesome on our two short flights and before we knew it we had landed in Orlando and were boarding the Magical Express bus!
We stayed at the Riverside-Port Orleans resort this time. We were all pleased that our rooms were ready when we got there and we all enjoyed an afternoon of swimming.
We were pretty happy with the resort. It certainly wasn't the Bay Lake Towers but the transportation to the parks, the pool, and pretty grounds were awesome! The food court area and how spread out the resort is were not so great! That night we had reservations at Chef Mickey's....one of my favorites!
Huston still wasn't sure what all the Disney fuss was about but once we arrived he finally got caught up in all the magic!
They about killed their necks trying to peek over and catch glimpses of the characters while we were waiting for our table!
The characters started coming around so soon after we sat that we had a hard time finding a time to go through the buffet line. The food was even yummier for dinner than the breakfast we ate last time we were at Disney World.
This is one my favorite pictures of Meg. So excited when she saw Minnie Mouse! We decided to try autograph books this time around. Hannah was really interested in doing it so we decided they all could do it. Unfortunately we were horrible with the autograph books. Chef Mickey's was the only place that we actually remembered to take them out and have the characters sign them. It was just too much to keep up with!
Goofy was a little sweet on Kena!
Minnie gave Huston a kiss right after this!
Doing a little dancing and napkin swinging during one of the songs!
The kids enjoyed every minute of dinner and Huston even declared at the end of it that it was the best day ever and he hadn't been to a park yet! It made me so happy to see all of them be so excited!
Everyone else went on to the gift shops at the Contemporary Hotel while I settled up our bill and enjoyed a little sampling of desserts. The rice krispy treat was my favorite!
Having a little fun trying on hats!
And this is a blurry picture of the ride back to the hotel. A few of them were crazy hyped up and then a couple were obviously done! We had to get up bright and early to get to Hollywood Studios the next morning!!!
