After a successful Meet the Teacher night I had a feeling the first day of school would be easy peasy lemon squeezy (as the kids like to say). And after some initial dragging of the feet by Brody we were finally dressed and ready to get to school!
But of course we had to take the typical first day of school pictures!

I walked them in the first day and Meg was so confident going to get her name tag!
And then lining up with the rest of her class!
I am so happy to report that school is going awesome for the kids! Meg told me after the first day that Mrs. Kirk's class was the most fun school ever and that she just loved it and that she wanted to write Mrs. Kirk a note to let her know how fun it was. When I picked Brody up he informed me that it was absolutely terrible because they had to do so much work. Thankfully it has gotten a lot more fun for him and he loves his teacher and has made some great friends but he still lives for recess every day! I feel like school has gotten so much easier for him. Reading is finally a breeze for him and no longer causes his head to hurt or make him exhausted like it used to. I think his 1st grade teacher was right.....sometimes it just takes a little longer for it to all click with some kids. So thankful it has all finally clicked!
