I wish that I had done a little more research on Hollywood Studios so I would've felt more familiar with the park layout and what all there was for the kids to do there. But after doing so much research on the Magic Kingdom I didn't have much energy left!
Right after we walked in a cast member was holding a sign for American Idol auditions. They have a live show that guests of the park can audition to be a part of. I told Bryson that he should do it and after the cast member promised it would only take "10 minutes" Bryson agreed to do it and Rob tagged along with him. So Carolina and I took the kids to see what fun things we could do while the big boys were busy!
The kids were excited to see Jake!
And after taking their picture with them we realized that a Disney Junior Live show was just starting so we squeezed in to catch it. It was really cute with Disney Junior character puppets and music for the kids to dance along to.
After that we got word that Bryson had made it through two auditions and was going to be part of the live show! They were shooting a video of him that would be used during the show and they wanted us to all be in it with him!
The kids were pretty excited to see Bryson and a camera man following him around!
He wasn't real sure about all the attention and was itching to go ride some rides
He got a quick break before he had to meet with his vocal coach (these people are serious about their American Idol) so we had a little snack break and then left Bryson to go ride Toy Story with the fast passes the producers had given us!
Carolina and Meg were riding buddies!
The Toy Story ride was so fun and so cute. Probably one of our favorite ones at Disney World!
Then we snuck over to meet the Toy Story characters
And when we walked outside we were surprised to see this guy!
Then it was finally American Idol time! Meg was pumped about getting to see her daddy on the stage! And although it turned out to be a much bigger time commitment than we had planned and got our schedule for the day completely off.....I am so glad Bryson did it. It is one of my favorite memories from the trip and it was so cool to watch. It would've been neat for him to win and move on to the winner's show that evening, but we were all really relieved that we could just go enjoy the park together!
After an extremely yummy meal at Mama Melrose's we headed to the Star Wars ride! This is one that Brody had been looking forward to!
Meg was a little unsure but I really thought she would like it!
Boy was I wrong! She did not enjoy it one bit even when she saw her picture on the screen. After this we decided to head over toward Tower of Terror and Rock -n- Roller Coaster! Cooper was super brave (or crazy if you ask Brody) and wanted to ride Tower of Terror! Brody was worried about him the whole time and wondering if he would be crying. I told him that I highly doubted it and that I bet he would love it. While Cooper and the other grown ups were riding that ride me, Brody, and Meg caught the live Beauty and the Beast show. It was such a great show and the kids really enjoyed it. After the show we met up with the others (and for the record, Cooper loved Tower of Terror. He is a dare devil) and I realized that I was missing my diamond stud earring and started to freak out. On top of that Meg started to meltdown and was demanding chocolate milk. Her and I were on the verge of losing it. Everyone is supposed to lose it at Disney World at least once, right? Well I did. Thankfully my husband and our friends were understanding of mine and Meg's meltdowns and didn't hold it against us! So her and I retreated to a restaurant that was quite and cool and I told the rest of the group to go have some fun. I was so thrilled they had chocolate milk and within 5 minutes this is what she looked like!
My phone died and it was pretty nice just sitting down and doing nothing for the next hour. At this point we were approaching almost 6:30 and so I figured it would be a good idea to try to wake her up and meet the rest of the group. Big mistake. She did not want to be awake and she did not want to do anything! We had special seats at Fantasmic that evening and I really didn't want to miss it.
While Meg and I were relaxing the boys had some fun of their own riding rides and eating yummy ice cream!
Waiting for Fantasmic to Start!
I tried a number of different things to calm Meg down but once she heard there were going to be fireworks at the show that night she was out. She was demanding to go home and to go home Right. Then. Bryson had offered to take her back and I happily took him up on the offer. And Rob was nice enough to join him. I was feeling guilty that I hadn't really got to spend much time with Brody that day and so I soaked up every moment sitting with him watching Fantasmic. And let me tell you, it was awesome. One of my favorite "shows" we watched. Just so good. We did a little shopping after it ended and Brody picked out some cool Star Wars cars. By the time we got back to the hotel I was in a much better mood and had a much better attitude to go with it. And I was so happy when we returned and realized I had never put my earring in to begin with. It was sitting right were I had left it. Oops! Even though our day at Hollywood Studios wasn't exactly what I had envisioned it being, it was still great because some of my favorite memories from our trip happened on that day!
