Spring Break in Sulphur

This was the first year since I graduated college that Spring Break actually meant something for our family! Unfortunately, like most people, Bryson doesn't get a Spring Break. So we decided to head South to Sulphur for a couple of days where everyone gets a Spring Break!!!

On Thursday we spent the day playing, having a picnic, riding bikes at Veterans Lake, taking Bumpys boat out on the lake, and more playing!!! It was so fun! On Friday we decided to venture out to the new Chickasaw Cultural Center that is right down from Mimi and Bumpy's house. And let me tell you it is a beautiful place to visit. We didn't go in the actual museum because I don't think it is age appropriate for our little ones, but what we did see was wonderful! The people who work there are over the top friendly (more than Chick-Fil-A's folks) and everything was so well planned out!
First we used the pretty scenery for some pictures!
And tried to keep the boys out of the water.

Next we went on to see the various houses the Indians used to live in.

This is just a little glimpse of how big the place is. We walked on that bridge from the main campus area to get to the houses.
At the top looking over at the "fire pit"
Then we got to see a stomp dance
Meg loved it!
Hannah and Huston even went down and joined in on the dance
After the stomp dance we watched Bambi in their amazing theatre (for $1 a person...so cheap)and then ate a delicious lunch at their cafe. The prices were so reasonable and the food was so yummy! I would highly recommend taking a trip down to Sulphur to check it out. Although there isn't a ton for little kids it would be great for older kids and adults. And with the National Park, Arbuckle Lake, Restaurants, and a new winery you could spend an entire day or weekend in Sulphur!
So I didn't get anymore pictures of our terrific visit to Sulphur but it consisted of more playing outside and eating! The kids still weren't ready to leave on Saturday morning!
