Capital with Cousins

Last week Brody and Meg were super excited to get to see their cousins since everyone was out for Spring Break. Uncle Matt and Aunt KK and the kids got a hotel in Norman. After a morning of swimming in the pool we all cleaned up and headed to the State Capital. Kena and Matt's good friend, Wes Hilliard, is the State Representative for their area and they always stop by to visit him during Spring Break. We were happy to get to join them. Brody has been asking for about 2 years when he gets to go to that big building with the Indian on the top and finally he got to see what it was all about!

Meg was really interested in what Wes had to say!
She was also very interested in the ceiling!

Surprisingly the boys were also very interested in all of the artwork and statues!

Taking a tour with Wes is probably a tad different than taking a normal tour. He snuck us out on the rough so we could get a close up picture of the dome!

Checking out the House Floor. Meg fell in love with Uncle Matt all over again during Spring Break. She loves him. At one point when she was hysterical she happily went to him and sat in the rocking chair with him and rocked away!

She is also pretty crazy about Aunt KK. This is what she looked like most of the time we were there. Except for the times she insisted that Kena carry her around. Notice her purse. She stole it from Hannah and would not give it back! Remember when I said most people just do what ever makes Meg happy. These are the people I was talking about. No wonder she loves them so much!

Of course the boys loved the tornado painting!

Thanks Wes for giving us the grand tour! We enjoyed it!!!

That afternoon Huston came home with us and spent the night. It was his first time to do this without his mom or Mimi so it was a big deal. He did great and we can't for many more slumber parties. Meg liked cuddling with him the next morning while watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse!
