Packing on the Pounds

First....the most important thing...Bryson is home! Yeah! He arrived at the house at 3:00 am on Thursday. Brody has been so happy to have him around. They have gotten right back to their normal activities which include wrestling, riding bikes, and playing Spiderman and Batman. It has been so nice having him around the house. Although I have found myself trying to accomplish all of the things I wasn't able to do for the last 18 days in the last two days. I want to get everything done so I can just hang out an relax! I am also realizing that Brody, Meg, and I had gotten into a little routine with Bryson gone and it is hard to adjust to a new routine now that he is home. The funniest thing happened today when it was Brody's nap time. He wanted to lay down in my bed and so Bryson decided to lay down with us too. Brody got really upset because Bryson said it was his bed and Brody insisted that it was mommy and Brody's bed. Oops....probably not a good thing. The other thing that Brody said that was funny was when we were headed out on a walk this evening. Bryson and Brody were on their bikes were going one way and Meg and I were headed a different direction. Bryson casually said to me, "Love ya babe" and Brody right behind him said to me, "Love you baby".
Meg staring at Bryson. She could win any staring contest that is for sure. She is really able to lock in on whoever is holding her and it is like she is just examining everything about your face!
Enjoying storytime together
My cousin Shawn found these wrestling pillows recently while he was cleaning out his attic and thought Brody might like them. And boy was he right! Brody has been loving them. He is Hulk Hogan, I am Sting, and Bryson is Macho Man. You can see Brody is showing off his fighting face in the picture!
Another sweet sleeping picture....these are my favorite!
So you might be wondering who is packing on the pounds in the Varner family. It is actually probably all of us, but the one who we are actually excited about is Meg! I took her to the doctor this morning because she has a cold and I was worried that it might have resulted in an ear infection (thankfully it hadn't) and she weighed in at 10 lbs! This is bigger than Brody was at this age and she even started out smaller! You can see my picture comparison!

Meg at 6 weeks
Other activities this week included Brody's pajama party at Gingerbread. I had signed up to be one of the helpers and I really had a good time watching him with his friends. I realized that Brody is an instigator when it comes to play fighting with his friends. He goes around and does this arm bumping with the other boys. They all seem to love this play fighting, but I can tell the teachers don't really like it. It was so funny! It was also neat to see him actually participate in the songs and activities that the teachers were doing. Aunt B had gone with him to his Thanksgiving Party at school and she noticed that he didn't really play with any of the kids and Teacher Pam had told me before that he primarily hung out with her. So...he has obviously come a long way and developed some good friendships and is really enjoying himself.
Here you can see Brody on top of some other kid at school....oops!
Brody and this little girl, Livi, seemed to be quite fond of each other. This is the only girl that he really paid much attention to. Besides a girl named Reese who plays with all of the boys. She even had Lighting McQueen PJ's on!
Checking out the weather outside so they could dress the weather bear
Actually participating in circle time. Who knew Brody actually knows the words to Twinkle Twinkle Star and a lot of other songs!

Brody and his friend Brayden
I also had my 6 week check-up which means I am now free to do whatever I want. This is so exciting because I spent almost 9 months not being able to do much at all because of all of the pressure and then the last 6 weeks not being able to do too anything! I vacuumed today and it was wonderful. I then went for a long walk and that felt really good! I ordered a couple of workout DVD's and I can't wait for them to come in the mail. We will see how long this excitement lasts!

If I remember right there's something else that you can do starting at 6 months. :) You didn't mention that.

I'm so glad Bryson made it home! I love all the pictures you are posting of the two kids at the same ages...they look so much alike! That is too cute! Any better luck with the miracle blanket???
