5 weeks

If anyone is counting (like I am) it has been 11 days since Bryson has been in the Texas Panhandle and it looks like it will be another 9 days until he will be back home. It sounds like he is working hard and not getting a lot of sleep out on the rig. Things are going good here at home. Meg continues to grow. I think I even saw a few little rolls of fat on her arm today....I love it!!! She is really starting to try to reach specific toys on her floor gym, or at least that is what it looks like she is doing! I have had a lot of people helping me out lately and I really appreciate it. My dad came up for the afternoon and fixed my sink and hung out for a while, Bryson's mom has been coming over in the evenings and helping around the house, playing with the kids, and just providing me with some company, my sister kept Brody overnight (and he threw up 3 times at her house and all over their dog), my mom spent the entire weekend with me, and my friend Maranda has cooked dinner for us and even brought lunch to us today! I am so thankful for all the help and to everyone else who has offered to help. It means so much to me! A few of my favorite pictures from the last week.....

During a mini photo shoot I had with Meg. This bow is my favorite!

Brody helping me make pizza. He has really started to do some new things this last week including singing along to some songs on TV. He has always HATED anyone trying to sing to him or if we try to sing along to songs on TV. But now he has been singing the Clifford theme song and the alphabet song on Super Why. I guess TV isn't all that bad!!

Brody has also become very interested in the letters of the alphabet. He can identify about 20 of the letters and he spots them all over the place. I love watching him learn new things and seeing things finally click after he has really been working on them.
Are these not the cutest? My friend Rachel got these for Meg at Affair of the Heart and I love them! Brody is pretty adamant about her being called Meg Caroline rather than just Meg. We were at CVS yesterday picking up a prescription and they asked who it was for and I said Meg Varner and Brody yelled Meg Caroline!

They look so much alike in this picture!

This picture is so sweet to me. Anytime Meg starts to fussing Brody gets close by her face and sweetly says Shhhh and then kisses her head. Sometimes he has the magic touch!

One thing that has been great about being at home with both kids by myself is that Brody has learned to fall asleep almost anywhere and sleep through Meg's crying. This particular night both kids fell asleep while I was feeding Meg in this chair. I thought Brody looked pretty funny!

Doesn't Meg have the cutest big brother??

My church had a Sip and See for Meg on Sunday. It was so much fun and Meg did great. She only cried two times. During this picture and when they said a prayer for her! Not very good timing!
Thanks to the Miracle Blanket and the Swaddle Me blanket most nights at our house have become pretty fantastic. Meg slept from 10 to 6 one night and 9 to 4 another night. I think she would do it every night if she didn't wake up to poop so much. And Brody has been doing better at night too.

Brody Jack is a great big brother. :) Let me know if there's anything I can do for you guys, especially while Bryson is in Lipscombe County!

I love all the new pictures!! The onles of Brody holding her on the Boppy are precious!! It sounds like The Miracle Blanket is really working for you! I put Lauren Margaret in it just at night and I think it really is helping her understand "night time". I hope you all are coming to Dallas this weekend! Can't wait to meet Meg and visit with you all!

I love the sight of a sleeping baby! Glad that the swaddle is helping some. We want to come visit sometime! Maybe after our trip to Tennessee we can figure out a good time for MK and I to come visit.
