Why our children got Bryson's looks and my stomach is beyond me. Thursday night was probably my most challenging yet since Bryson has been gone. We were all tired after a long day and I was trying to eat dinner and Meg was fussing and Brody was playing happily in the living room when all of a sudden he threw up all over the floor and the ottoman. Then he proceeded to the kitchen and threw up all on the floor, me, and himself. I wasn't even sure what to do first. I ended up putting Meg in her bouncy seat...and being the good girl she is....she feel asleep. Then I put Brody in the bathtub and proceeded with the clean up. We are not sure why he does this at times. Throwing up is his new stomach issue. It started back in November and he does it about once a week or once every other week. He ended up doing in on Friday night at my parent's house at well. I usually don't see it coming and he always feel fantastic after he does it. He is going to have a sucrose intolerance test done on Tuesday to see if this might be causing the problem. We will see!
Weekend Activities
Activities that were a lot more fun including a great trip to Sulphur for the three of us on Friday morning. It was a beautiful day so Brody, Hannah, and Huston had a great time playing at MiMi and Bumpy's. Tummy trouble hit another family member that day. Poor Huston somehow managed to drink about 3 sippy cups of prune juice and come to find out he was very expired prune juice. Let me tell you...if you ever want to do a cleanse without spending very much money....expired prune juice will do the trick!
Saturday morning me and Meg headed to Dallas for Ted and Rikki's baby shower. Meg did great on the drive down and I stopped and found some terrific bargains at the Gap Outlet. We first went to eat lunch with Aunt B, Gran B, and Rodney at Buzz Brew's. It was amazing food. If you are in Dallas you should go there. I am still thinking about the french toast I had!
The shower was at Rob and Carolina's so we got to spend some time with Baby Cooper. He is still the cutest thing ever and so happy. He is getting pretty big. I carried him around for maybe 10 minutes and my back ached and my feet hurt. We also got to meet Lauren who is one week older than Meg and Avery who is one week younger than Meg. We are going to all have so much fun this fall at the tailgates!
This is Brody at the park in Pauls Valley. Bumpy ended up hanging out with Brody for much of Saturday because MiMi came down with something awful. I think he had a great time!
Please notice the hole in Brody's pants. Every pair of his jeans and sweat pants have a hole in the right knee. Does he really slide around that much. I guess I won't be handing his clothes down to anyone!!
The fun things you get to do in a small town. Brody enjoyed the horse and pig show with his Aunt KK and Bumpy. He has talked about those animal a bunch!
This is Meg on Sunday night after our busy weekend. She looks so relaxed!
I know I have said it before, but Bryson's friends did such a great job of finding such terrific people to marry! I lucked out and got some great friends out of the deal. We missed Whitney and Hudson...but they couldn't make it since he was only 3 days old!!!
Meg getting ready to go to church with MiMi and Bumpy. I hate putting her in these dresses. I think she looks adorable, but I worried the whole time about how uncomfortable she must be!
I think this is what they call child abuse. I love Cooper's face!!
Bryson called me after seeing this picture and wanted to make sure that Meg was the one on the far right. It made me so sad that he wasn't 100% sure who his child was in a line up. He should be home soon though!
Meg spent part of the shower asleep in Cooper's bouncy seat. It still amazes me how she can sleep through almost anything!

Willie looks like a pro holding Meg
At least Allison looks happy! I so enjoyed getting to share baby stories with her. You would think since it is my second time around I wouldn't have so many questions for other moms, but that is so not the case!
Meg and Cooper checking each other out. I think it was love at first sight!
Meg sporting her "Daddy is a Rock Star" onsie and mini skirt.
Ashley and Meg. We can't wait for her and Matt to have a little one of their own!
Could Huston smile any bigger. I keep waiting for Meg to become old news to him and Hannah, but it hasn't happened yet. He actually told me (and I guess his babysitters) that he was going to get a baby. I asked him where he was going to get one from and he said he was going to buy one at the baby store!
Having a good time with Gran B. Look at how sweet Little Meg's hands are resting on her chin!At What Point
After this happened a few times this last week I started to ask myself, At what point is it not acceptable for Brody to drop his drawers and pee outside in our neighborhood. Yesterday he was ahead of me on his bike and by the time I caught up to him he already was peeing and of course some people we know saw him. He did this on someone's mail box last week. I guess this is better than him peeing in his pants (which I really doubt he would do), but I seriously doubt I would let Meg pee in public.
Makes Me Sad
After spending time over the weekend with a few first time moms it made me sad thinking of how different it was with Brody. I was able so sit and hold him as much as I wanted. Anytime he laid on the floor I was right there with him talking to him and playing with him. I was always singing to him and reading books. These are all things I would love to do with Meg, but there just isn't much of an opportunity to do so. Don't get me wrong....she isn't neglected or anything, but I just wish I had more time to do these things. As a friend of mine said about her second child, "She is lucky if I even have time to talk to her!". Hopefully when Bryson is home I will have more time to do these things!
Another Thank You
A big thank you to our friends Amy and Wade. They kept both kids on Sunday afternoon while I did my bi-annual shopping at the Just Between Friends consignment sale. I found some great deals including about 25 pieces of clothing for $100.

I had such a great time visiting with you this weekend. Meg is just so sweet and it was really fun getting to hold her and all! Thanks for all your good baby advice! You are a great mom!! Hope to see you again, soon! We really all should have a girls weekend sometime...even if it's with the kids. That would be fun!
I love this post...I was cracking up. A couple of notes:
1. Nolan has never been read a book. Part of this is that he doesn't care one bit for them, but the other part is that I just don't have time for it. If my kid doesn't develop an appreciation for literature, it's my fault.
2. Bailey has holes in every pair of her jeans, too. But, not just her jeans. The tops of every pair of shoes is torn. She must drag herself around every playground she sees.
3. Meg looks like she's getting big. I almost spit out my drink at Bryson needing confirmation of which one was her. Get that man home!!

I don't think it ever becomes inappropriate for a male to pee outdoors in public. Just my two cents. :)
Hey Ilena! Love all the pics. I gave you a blog award on our page! :)
