Spring Soccer was a lot of fun this year and very busy! This was the first time that both kids were playing NYSA soccer. This meant that we trekked it to Norman 2-3 times a week for practices and Brody's practices were usually 1 1/2 hours each time. And then of course we had at least 2 games each weekend! But it is worth it to watch them doing something that they love so much!
Meg was on the Zebra Princess team again this year. I just love the sweet girls on her team and her coach! Almost all of them have older siblings so they definitely know what is going on when it comes to playing soccer and they are all so spunky and fun!
Most of the games this season were freezing! We dealt with crazy wind and even had to run to our cars before the end of one game because a hail and thunderstorm came!
Brody was on the same team this year too! He loves playing with these boys. They are fiercely competitive with one another!
Since he took the fall season off he had a lot to catch up on. It was fun to see him get him better with each game. The one thing you count on from him is that if the coach tells him to stay in one position he will do exactly that. This is both good and bad!
With Meg she was either hot or cold. She sometimes would be so good that we kind of felt bad for the other kids because she would score so many goals and then other games it was like she had completely forgotten what the goal of soccer was!
This particular day Bryson had to get her ready for the game while I was training for the Half Marathon and boy did I wish she had a sign on her that said, "My daddy dressed me". I mean look at her hair!
But she did score 5 goals that game!
Brody played mostly defense this season. He was really itching to play offense and I think he might have been better doing that, but he learned about being a team player and sucked it up without complaining.
The day he got to play goalie he loved it. But honestly he is a pretty bad goalie.
But he looks awesome in orange!
And he is a fast little booger!
Brody's team didn't win a single game all season. They played mostly 9 and 10 year olds and his team was almost all 8 year olds. And Meg's team only lost one game the entire season. Can't wait until fall to see how they do then!
