Each year the kids school as a contest called "Reflections". There is a theme and the kids submit artwork in categories such as Photography, Film, Creative Movement, and Art. Brody won 3rd place a couple of years ago for a picture of the Cunningham's at Disney World that he took. This year we dropped the ball and didn't submit anything. Being the great teacher that she is, Mrs. Kirk gave each of the Pre-K kids the opportunity to paint something and submit it. We received a note a couple of months ago that Meg won and would be receiving a trophy at an assembly.
I didn't tell Meg.....I wanted her to be surprised!
And boy was she. She just couldn't believe that she won a trophy.
She was so proud of her trophy. She continues to hide it all over the house because she just knows that Brody will try to steal it and hide it from her! She thinks she won first place. She actually won Honorable Mention. Small details like that aren't that important, right?
And after seeing her receive her award I stuck around and saw this kiddo get his certificate for all A's. That's all A's for the whole school year so far!
