The day the kids had been anxiously awaiting and counting down to was finally here....Christmas Eve! They were so super excited for the days activities to begin. This is the first Christmas Eve that we had absolutely nowhere to be and nothing scheduled. It felt kind of weird to me, but it ended up being such a great day!
First thing that morning we met up with the Cunningham family to eat breakfast and exchange presents! I love how much these four love each other. After breakfast I had a couple of last minute errands to run and then we were home by 10 to enjoy the rest of the day together!
First up on the kids schedule was to open presents! We let them open their gifts from us and from each othere! You can tell Meg was pumped!
They each got their Christmas book that I write in each year. This was the first year leading up to Christmas that the kids (primarily Meg) wanted me to read all of the things I had written to them in the previous years! They also got their Christmas PJ's!
Brody couldn't believe it when he opened this present! His very own shotgun! Just what every 7 year old boy needs, right?
He immediately started planning hunting trips with his daddy even though he is a little scared to shoot it because he thinks it will hurt his shoulder! The rest of the day was spent playing games, putting together legos, cooking a yummy dinner, and baking cookies. It was an awesome day!
Meg showing off Santa's nutella, marshmallow, sprinkle covered cookies. They were yummy....or at least that's what Santa told me!
Then they go all dressed in their PJ's and slippers, we popped some popcorn, and then headed out to look at Christmas lights before heading to bed!
