Pre-K Celebration

The last week of school Brody's Pre-K class put on the most fantastic performance for all of their families! I had no idea what to expect. All Brody had told me about the performance was that his line was to say "5" and that I would get a surprise while I was there!

As always, Mrs. Kirk went all out. She had the stage decorated so cute with lights and everything. Her daughter put together a sweet slideshow of all of the kids pictures throughout the year and it was set to music. I have to admit I had to old back tears thinking about how much my sweet little guy has grown up during this year.
After the slideshow ended his class filed in to some dance music. I was very surprised by Brody for a few different reasons during the show. 1) You could tell he knew exactly what he was supposed to be doing and what everyone else was supposed to be doing. He was always right on cue and he would start motioning to the other kids if they were doing what they were supposed to at the exact right time (we will be working on some patience and understanding this summer) 2) He was quiet the little performer. We always say that Meg is our little show off, but Brody proofed that he's got some of his daddy's show-off personality as well. 3) He was so happy up there and was SO proud of his hard work!

The performance was the Top 10 things about Pre-K. Each number was a different thing they had learned this year (Alphabet, Numbers, Sharing, Making Friends, Learning about the World, etc.). After they woudl announce the number the kids would do a few songs or display some of their skills they learned this year. My personal favorite was when they did they said the alphabet while signing it and saying what sound that letter makes.

Brody was so excited about his trophy and medal. He has wanted a trophy for so long! I loved getting his memory book and a copy of the picture slideshow!

Saying his line! The song for his number was a partner dance. I will be editing the video and putting it up here because it was hilarious! His partner was Jackson and I had to quietly apologize to his mom during the performance because Brody was yanking the poor kid all around doing their dance! Thankfully they thought it was adorable!

Walter the Worm song

My favorite song! "What a Wonderful World". Each kid had painted a different picture to hold up at different times during the song. It was amazing how good all of the kids did. Mrs. Kirk has a way of getting these little guys to do exactly what they are supposed to do. For 20 Pre-K kids to sit on a stage still for an hour and for there not be one mess-up is pretty amazing if you ask me!

Getting his goodies from Mrs. Kirk and Mrs. Dee. Mrs. Kirk always tries to hug him and she ends up with a little side hug as he tries to hurry away.

Brody and Nana. Papa was teaching a spin class that night and wasn't able to make it.

Brody and Mrs. Kirk (he does love her as you can see here). Hands down the best teacher ever. If he ever has another teacher as good as her I will be blown away because I just can't imagine that.

The celebration was the perfect end to a wonderful year of Pre-K! My friend Stephanie was sweet enough to keep Miss Meg. I was so glad she did too so I could really enjoy the performance! Afterwards everyone came over to the house for dinner and had fun watching the kids play. It was such a fun evening celebrating our sweet little guy!! Video will be coming soon!
