The day after Brody got out of school we (minus Bryson) were soooo excited to be heading to Longview, Texas with Mimi for a family reunion. Anytime I stay in a hotel I consider it a vacation, so this was also our first vacation of the summer! We headed out around 7:30 Friday evening after watching Cousin Hannah in her dance recital rehearsel. She, of course, was the cutest one there and did terrific! After about 30 minutes into our drive we saw a sign that said, "Road Construction Ahead: Expect MAJOR delays". Awesome. This little problem added 45 minutes onto our drive. We ended up only making it to Lewisville that night. Brody had fallen asleep in the car and Meg was just screaming her head off the last 15 minutes. She was so tired. We went inside and as we were waiting to get our keys to the room I noticed that Brody just laid down on the floor of the hotel lobby and just went back to sleep. It was so funny! He almost got ran over by some people carrying their luggage in on a cart. A nice old man felt so bad for him that he stood guard over him to make sure no one hit him! After a terrific nights sleep and breakfast we hit the road. It was about a 2 1/2 hour drive and it was wonderful. The kids were so happy to arrive at Jon and Angela's house where we would be hanging out for the next two days!

Peekaboo! My dad looked at the pictures when we returned home and asked if Brody was there. Just so you know, Meg loves having her picture taken and I always have to be right where she is so that is why there are sooo many more pictures of her!
On to the swimming pool!

Jon and Angela have the most beautiful house.....especially their amazing backyard. It was a little paradise out there and that is where we spent the majority of our time!
A pool, a swing set, a hot tub.....my kids were in heaven!

The Ipad came in handy during the trip. Meg loved laying in the hotel bed playing games and watching movies!

Meg quickly grew to love her cousins Vivi, Jack, and Vaughn
And Brody really enjoyed playing with Jack and Vaughn
Vivi and Grandmother became fast friends. I think she secretly wishes that either Vivi was her great grandaughter or at least that one of her grandkids was as sweet at her!

Sunday morning we took a trip to a nearby park. It was such a nice park and there were beautiful walking trails around it!
She loves swinging and she loves to pretend someone is in the swing and pushes them!
Jon spent a lot of time at the grill. We ate a lot of delicious food!

I spent the majority of my time in the hot tub or the pool. It was wonderful!
Grandmother, Wesley Ann, and Sharon cleaning up the kitchen!After we left Monday morning the four of us headed to Grapevine! We told the kids we had a big surprise for them. Our first stop was at Rainforest Cafe. Meg actually fell asleep at the restaurant and stayed asleep for the entire time we ate and then for another hour at the mall. So unlike her! After that we headed to the Gaylord Texan Resort. I loved the hotel. It was so nice and just a perfect way to end our vacation!

And walking around the atrium eating cheetos
Mimi bought Meg an elephant and Brody a tiger for their souveniers! I sure love traveling with my babies!
Bad picture....but the only proof that my mom was actually with us!
Looking over the balcony! Do you see that Brody is missing a tooth? He lost is 1st tooth while we were watching Kung Fu Panda 2 with the cousins. He was eating skittles and it just fell out. I was barely able to find the little thing in the dark theatre. I have never seen such a happy smile on his face.....he was so excited. He had blood all in his mouth, but he never even noticed. Just too happy!
Is this not the sweetest thing ever? Brody thought it was so neat that the resort had chairs that sat in the water!

I want to see sweet Meggers. She is so beautiful! I can't wait for her and Finley to get together again! And KK is going to DIE when I tell her Brody lost a tooth. She is just waiting!!
