What was I thinking when I thought I could keep up with documenting all of our December activities? We have still been doing Christmas activities on most days and we have been enjoying every minute of it. A quick recap of some of the things we have done that I didn't get pictures of......
*Lots of Christmas coloring (Brody's new favorite thing)
*Baking treats and giving them to Bible Class teachers
*Buying gifts for kids in foster care
*Taking a toy to the Moore Fire Department
*Watching Polar Express and Home Alone
*Reading Christmas books at night
*Taking toys to Childrens Hospital (one of my favorite activities.....I was so proud of the kids)
*Making ornaments
*Getting new ornaments for the tree

Brody enjoyed the party favors from the Mens Warehouse Christmas party his daddy crashed with some friends (don't even ask)

Skyping with Kennedy in Germany. He wanted to play the guitar for her and so she did the same. That skype session was a little loud and crazy!

There were tears. Over what, I'm not sure!

Looking oh so pretty for church!

Meg's crib got converted into a toddler bed! She loves it....especially the tacky bedding I bought her. Funny how I swore I would never buy character stuff for my kids.....especially princess stuff. Just wait till you see what she is getting for Christmas! Back to the bed. She started having horrible sleep habits and acted like she hated her bed. So we switched it and every since then she has been sleeping great! She is so different than Brody was. She just decides on her own when she is done with stuff (like she did with the paci). And she has also randomly decided that she does like bananas and apples. It only took two years!

Brody and I attempted to make a Gingerbread House!

It was a distaster. We had a great time doing it though!

Meg and daddy built a huge tower before church!

And Meg is suddenly obsessed with gum. She chews it all the time. Maybe I shouldn't type that. Pretty sure the people at our pediatricians office read this blog from time to time. But she doesn't swallow it. She is a pro. I blame the candy man at church for this. Does every church really have one of those???
My favorite things that have happened from all of these activities is that Brody is getting the joy of giving and understanding that other children aren't as fortunate as he is. Of course I hoped all of the things we were doing would help him understand but wasn't sure if it would click. He kept asking about the gifts in our house for foster kids. I kept explaining why they were in foster homes and not with their parents and he finally said, "But you love us and we will never have to be away from you and take good care of us." I said yes and he immediately ran and gave me a hug and a kiss and told me he loved me! He also made a treat bag for Mr. Crocker (aka: Candy Man) at church since he supplies him with gum all the time. After giving it to him Brody said, "Mr. Crocker was so happy when I gave him his present." Oh yes.....the joy of giving! I hope he never forgets how much fun it is to do nice things for others!

Our gingerbread house was a disaster too! And the only one I could find was literally about the size of a large tortilla chip. Next year we are importing one!
Sterling started chewing gum at 2 too, but there's no way Hudson is ready!!! And, I can't believe Meg doesn't crawl out of her toddler bed! What a big girl :)
