Weather Festival

Last Saturday the kids had plans to head to Sulphur to spend the night with Mimi and Bumpy while Bryson and I attended his best friend's wedding that evening. Bryson was already with Nick getting things ready for the big day so the kids and I jumped at the chance to meet Uncle Matt, KK, and Huston at the National Weather Center for their Annual Weather Festival. I wasn't sure what to expect and it turned out pretty good, but it was'nt really our kind of thing. Huston and Matt loved it though!

Meg was happy to have Aunt KK there to follow her around and let her do whatever she wanted!
Brody and Meg enjoyed all of the kids activities the best while Huston actually enjoyed learning about weather related things and seeing the radar monitors.

Participating in one of the Omniplex's science experiements. Eating a cheese ball that was extremely cold. One of those suckers burned my hand!
Huston thought it was fun too!
Things people say.....
I love to hear what my friends and family say about Brody and Meg. I am with them all the time and so they are who they are to me, but it is fun to see the things others pick up on. Here are some things I have heard lately that just make me smile.
*At the Weather Festival on Saturday Meg kept going up to random people and showing them her cute shoes or wanting them to look at her tatoo or the kitty cats on her shirt. She really does think that wherever she goes that it is all about her. Kena said that it sure is going to be a sad day for Meg when she realizes that the world doesn't actually revolve around her. Sad day for sure!
*My sweet friend Charity who took our family pictures a month ago spent an entire weekend with us. She had been in our house 10 minutes and noted that Meg was about the most active child she had ever seen. What validating words those were for me. The next morning we went to breakfast and Meg was so good (for her) and Charity said that was the wiggliest little kid. We agree.
*My cousin was in town a couple of months ago for a funeral and we had a nice lunch with her two kids at my grandparents house one day. And she said, "I always hear people in the family talk about how active and busy Meg is and it wasn't that I didn't believe them but I just didn't really get it until I saw it for my own eyes." Loved it. Made me feel so much better for why I am EXHAUSTED at the end of every day!
