This week Bryson and I attended our first parent teacher conference with Mrs. Kirk. It was so nice to hear her tell us all about how Brody is at school and it was even nicer that it was a good report. Mrs. Kirk was very organized and instead of just telling us how she thought he was doing she had a number of things to show us where he was at based on where they want kids his age and at this point in the school year to be. The first thing she showed us was a series of questions she asked Brody about what his favorites were at school. The first was who are his favorite friends to play with. She was so excited about one of the kids he listed. It is a little boy who speaks English as his second language and his first language is Farsi. She said that Brody really watches out for him and plays with him. When I asked Brody about the boy he said, "He is mean to me. We fight in the kitchen!". I guess play fighting is universal regardless of the ability to communicate or Brody likes playing with him because what he says goes. I just thought it was so sweet that she sees Brody reaching out to him and including him. His other favorite friend was Jorge. Maybe Brody really would like us to adopt a baby from another country. She also said that Brody is very honest and sincere and a hard worker. His class is participating in OU's pre literacy program and 5 times a year that take a "test" one on one with Mrs. Kirk. We were able to see each of his answers to the questions regarding alphabet, picture, and word recognition as well as colors, shapes, letter sounds, counting, numbers, etc. There is a standard of where they want the kids at this point and he was above on each area. This made me very proud but what I liked the most is hearing that he is well behaved and kind and doesn't get in trouble. I am glad my little guy loves school and I pray that he always has a love of learning like he does right now!
Brody got a camera from his Mimi and Bumpy for his birthday and I finally downloaded some of the pictures from it! They are random but it's better than a post with no pictures!

Ilena-Yeah for a good school conference! I bet Brody is fun to teach. You are a great mom!
I wanted to ask you where/what brand is that piano? I think my Rylie Bug would love that- Thanks for the info.

LOVE love love the little pink tutu outfit. So sweet. And yay for Brody's good teacher conference!
Jodie-
The piano is Fisher Price and I think Bryson's mom got it at Toys R Us. It is a hit with everyone who comes. It is easy to put together and has a ton of options. The microphone is everyones favorite!
