Little Miss Meg is in her 3rd week of her 17 month (thank you Baby Center emails for reminding me how old my child is). Let's see what all she is up to....
*She is starting to talk more. It is amazing how much she babbles when I take her pacifier out. She is just SO bad about putting stuff in her mouth that I let her keep it in to prevent choking (and germs)! She is starting to repeat things more and does a number of animal sounds. Her lion noise is my favorite!
*Her personality continues to become more evident to us and everyone else who is around her. She still loves people and is very social. She is still happiest when she is out and about where she can put on a little show. She knows exactly what she wants and is very determined to do exactly what she wants, but yet, she doesn't throw too many fits. She still thinks she can do everything all the other big kids do. She loves to be goofy and get a laugh.

*She is starting to be a little more fond of walks. We got a bike seat for her and put it on the back of my bike and she really enjoys that too.
*She loves to be outside roaming around, playing in our cars, trying to play t-ball, and playing in the water.
*Her favorite toys are a bunch of dress up hats we have, plastic animals, balls and bats/golf clubs to hit them with, and cars/trucks. Yes...these are all toys of Brodys. Bryson told me he feels sorry for her because she doesn't have any toys of her own. I had to tell him that she has plenty of toys she just doesn't play with any of them!
*She loves TV. Her favorite is still Barney and that is the first things she likes to do in the morning. Watch Barney in my lap and enjoy her yogurt. She also has a new love for Yo Gabba Gabba. That show is crazy and I don't get it at all, but her little face lights up when it comes on. She will also watch some of the shows that Brody watches like Wonder Pets and Backyardigans.

*When she is kind of tired she will cuddle up and let people read to her. She loves Stephanie!

*We also got a surprise visit from Bumpy, Uncle Steve, and Mema Nancy last Saturday morning. Poor Bumpy and Uncle Steve are trying to work out some nightmare of a situation that involves some kid that my grandparents became close to years ago that took advantage of my grandma who has dementia and got her (supposedly) to co-sign on a car loan. We hadn't seen her in quiet a while and I was so thankful that Meg happily sat in her lap, gave her hugs, and kissed her when they left. I know it meant so much to her. Mema Nancy insists that Meg is a boy. My dad kept telling her that the baby was a little girl and she would say, "Yes sir he is! And a cute one too!" And then she explained again where the red hair comes from and that I better watch out because it probably means he (Meg) will end up with that bad Moody (her maiden name) temper.

*She still loves church and loves her new Bible School teachers. They really seem to like her too. They tell me how smart she is (which I love even though I am sure they tell all the parents that) and that they have a little crush on her. Very sweet.

*She has also become very interested in the toilet. I would never even think about trying to potty train her at this age (Brody was 3) but if she wants to sit on the toilet then I will certainly let her. She will climb up there and sit for a while, then try to wipe herself, then hope off, flush, tell the toilet paper bye-bye, and then go wash her hands. Today she wen to the toilet when she had poop in her diaper and so I changed her and then let her go sit on the potty. It wasn't long before I heard Brody shout, "She pooped more in the potty." Brody and I made a big fuss over her and she loved every minute of it!

*Did I mention she loves her brother? Everything he does...she does! She loves cuddling with him on the couch (the above picture was not posed....this is what she loves to do). Everything he does is hilarious. And he loves her just as much. He can't stand when she is asleep and begs to wake her up. The two of them forming such a sweet relationship makes all of the hard moments of being a mom totally worth it!
