The Birthday Party

After scheduling, rescheduling, scheduling, and rescheduling we finally had Meg's 1st Birthday Party! It turned out to be such a good time and the birthday girl was just a little angel! Meg's two little friends were in attendance (Finley and Cooper) as well as a lot of family!

Meg was excited to see her friend Cooper and cousin Hannah
Gran B knew what she was doing by bringing Meg a balloon with a bell on the end! She loved it and it kept hr completely occupied until it was present time! And Meg's outfit was just adorable. Finley and Kennedy's mom Katy made it and I just LOVED it!
Toni at "It's A Toni Cake" made Meg her little smash cake! I thought it was perfect and just loved the little chubby hula girl!
The big cake was red velvet and it was delicous! The cake had a rough ride from OKC to Norman on the icy roads so it lost a little bit of the pineapple decorations but I think it was still so cute!

The outfit even had a little "M" on the back

She loves Carolina and her Aunt KK

I stole Carolina's idea and I thin Erin's idea to do the pots with her name in it. Carolina went to Hobby Lobby with me and helped me figure out how to do everything. My dad printed pictures of Meg from her first year and we put them in frames as party favors for guests. I also asked everyone to right Meg a note that I will keep in the little box that my friend Amy made for her baby shower and had people right a note to Meg at the shower!
Meg enjoyed dinner before cake
Then it was exploring time
She loves her chair
She is really smitted with her great-grandmother and great-grandad. She gets to see them at church a couple of times a week and both kids have become really affectionate and loving with them both!
All the girls helped her open the presents. She could've cared less although she has really been enjoying all of the gifts here at the house!

Enjoying everyone singing to her She knew just what to do

Really.....I get this whole cake to myself??
She had quite the audience
Yum Yum

Nana and GG. These party favors may look familiar. We might have reused them after the 30 birthday bash. Who knows how many heads that pink hat has been on!
I couldn't get this picture to flip but I thought it was so sweet. Brody really likes Carolina. He talks her ear off all time!
Just random
Coopre liked the bouncy ball. He plays a great game of catch!
MiMi and Meg in outfit #2.

At one year old Meg is such a little happy girl! She has a delightful little personality and I think what she loves more than anything is people. She is always on the move, hence the nickname "Squirmy Wormy" that she got from the Cunninghams! She loves her Mother's Day Out teachers and practically launches out of my arms when we arrive. She loves walking around and smiling at people and just eats up any attention she can get. When we go to Target she no longer will ride in the basket regardless of what food or toy you try to entice her with. She has to walk. And she will walk up to people and grab a hold of their baskets and then of course they start talking to her and saying how cute she is and then they are done and ready to move on. But not Meg. She wants to go with them. At church she roams the halls and foyer like she owns the place. No one can believe that she is old enough to be walking. It all went by so quick! But despite how much she loves everyone....we know she loves us the most! She can tell when it is almost time for Bryson to get home. She will start babbling da-da, da-da and when he finally comes home she always heads straight to the door to greet him. And we all know that she loves Brody and she gives him lots of hugs to show it. And tonight while I was down on the kitchen floor sweeping up crums she kept coming up to my back and hugging me. She would lay her sweet little head on my back and then give me little pats on the back. My heart melted and I felt for sure it was her way of thanking me for cooking her such a delicous dinner! Meg also is developing a little humor. She loves to take whatever food she is eating and reach out at the dinner table with it like she is going to share it with you and then we you go down to take a bite she puts it in her mouth and just smiles real big. Just precious! She also likes to point at things. She will point where she wants to go and things that she wants. She also is pointing out more objects in her books!
She is an absolute delight and there just isn't much not to love

Happy birthday to little Meg! This year went by so fast and, yes, it's hard to believe she's walking, pointing, joking, etc.!
