The Varner family is very excited about the new year! There is a lot we are looking forward to and a lot that we hope to accomplish. A few of my goals for the year include......
1. I tried really hard this year to spend a lot of quality time with the kids. I didn't worry about the house, the internet, or work stuff as much (although I am sure at times I should've) and instead tried to focus on playing with the kids and going and doing fun things. Time goes by so fast and I love being with my kids so much! I hope to do even better with this goal and to spend more time with Bryson. He ends up being last on my list and I want to start doing better about sitting down and watching TV with him after the kids are in bed.
2. Run. I have never been able to run much or enjoyed running, but I am trying to become a runner. I have realized that my kids are only getting faster and require so much energy to keep up with them. I figure I better get in shape now!
3. We are going to do daily Bible reading. I always did this prior to kids and certainly miss it. There is so much I want to squeeze into those 2 hours after the kids go to bed and this hasn't been making the cut. I am going to try and change that!
4. Be more in charge of our finances. Bryson and I are both pretty laid back when it comes to money and I know if we worked at it we could save so much more money and be able to give more. I plan to meet with this great financial guy in January and get a good plan together!
5. Seriously consider applying to volunteer as a Court Appointed Special Advocate. This year I have been completley appalled by some things I have learned about kids in foster care. My sister suggested this as a way for me to help. The only thing holding me back is I want to make sure it doesn't take away too much time from Meg and Brody. But, I know other kids need help and it would be a good example to them. We will see!
I hope your 2010 is a wonderful year and all that you hope it will be!
