Happy First Birthday

One year ago today my sweet little baby Meg was born! I remember being worried as they wheeled me back to the operating room about how adding Meg to our family would change Brody's life. I was concerned that he would feel left out. He was my primary concern right before I delivered. And I remember them holding Meg over the curtain to show her to me for the first time and it is just an image I will never forget. Her facial expressions and her lips quivering and crying. She was precious and I was in love! I remember how tiny she was and how we had to quickly send family out to by preemie outfits so she would have something to wear. We eventually had to cut the feet out of the sleepers because she was long but her anything besides preemie was just so big on her. Crazy how a year changes everything! Seeing Brody with her today on her birthday it seems silly that I ever worried about how he would do with a sister. He sang her Happy Birthday multiple times and loved on her so much. He even helped make her cupcakes and a cake! He picked out a birthday present for her and was thrilled to help her unwrap it. They ran around the house together, played hide and seek, and hung out in the tent together. I am blessed with two precious kiddos and I will forever be grateful.

I wish I had pictures from today, but the card in my camera is "corrputed" and so my pictures are gone I am assuming. Meg LOVED her cupcake. She first ate some icing off her fingers and then quicly picked it up and went to town. She ate the entire thing and then just looked at the plate wishing another one would appear. She will have to wait until the birthday party to enjoy more deliciousness. There honestly wasn't a crum left on the plate or in her highchair. She ate it all. That is my girl!

Some of her current stats/activities include......
*She is a pro at walking. She walks really fast. Almost a run but not quite
*She bends over to pick things up and then stands back up and takes off walking
*She says Duck, Dog, Ball, Momma, Dada, Bye-Bye, Quack-Quack, and Bub-Bub (for Brody), and Ba Ba (for bottle). She also bobs her head in agreement
*She weights 23 lbs and 15 oz. (as of last week)
*Does patty cake all the time and loves Old MacDonald. She gets her head going to that too.
*Favorite veggie is avacado and favorite fruit is mandarin oranges. Loves any kind of pasta.
*Still loves books and does a great job at turning pages and lifting up flaps
*Gives hugs and kisses
*Waves bye-bye
