Other Firsts
-Meg's first (and then second) injury from Brody. The first incident happened at Red Robin and Brody had been pushing his cars back and forth to me on the table. One of the cars got out of control and I wasn't fast enough to catch it and it hit her right above the eye....oops! The second happened at Chick-Fil-A. We were just getting ready to go and I had Meg buckled in her car seat and Brody was putting his shoes back on. He forgot that her car seat was behind him and he stepped back and tripped over it and sort of did a backwards flip over it. Although he didn't land on her he did somehow smush her in the process because her face turned all red and she started screaming. The whole way home he kept saying, "I sorry Meg. I didn't see you".
-Meg smiled for the first time on Sunday (and it wasn't from gas or while she was sleeping). I was holding her and she was looking at me and she just briefly smiled. It was so sweet and just made me want more. Not long after that she burped so loud that it scared Rosco off the ottoman and out of the living room
-We had pictures taken on Saturday. Jessi with Stella Photography came over and took pictures of Meg (and some of the rest of us) in her nursery. Jessi is a friend of ours and was great working with the kids. I am so anxious to see them. I am hoping at least one picture of Meg is good so I can get announcements sent out and put her picture in the Wynnewood and Pauls Valley papers!

Here she is kind of smiling in her sleep. Meg loves sleeping on her belly and on her boppy. The two put together is just pure bliss to her.

This is us getting ready to have our pictures taken. Brody looked so handsome and so grown up!
Monster Trucks
The much anticipated Monster Truck Show was on Saturday. Bryson and Brody went with Matt and Huston. I was pretty sad not to go, but I figured the boys didn't need me ruining their guys day out. From the stories I heard and the pictures that were took....it seems like the boys had a great time. Brody was so excited about going and kept telling everyone he saw that he was going!

He has been playing with his Monster Truck collection non stop since the show. When I saw them all lined up this morning I started to wonder if we have over indulged his love of monster trucks. There were 26 of them and he knows all of their names!Funny Brody
I wanted to include some of the funny things that Brody has said and done lately.
1. I wasn't sure if I had mentioned before but the kid strips off all of his clothes the second he walks in the door or wakes up in the morning. We have convinced him to keep underwear on, but I still don't know how he doesn't freeze. I guess I shouldn't be too surprised....Bryson does the same thing!
2. Yesterday we were out walking and there were some bulldozer tracks in the dirt. He wanted me to race him on the tracks and so I did. But he kept starting before I would say go so I told him he wasn't playing fair. He for some reason thought fair was something you say to people who are being bad because he kept pointing his finger at me and saying "You fair" and then would laugh!
3. Brody is not only obsessed with monster trucks but he has added a new obsession. Sausage biscuit and eggs. He has eaten this everyday for breakfast for the last two weeks and has even had it as part of his dinner a few times.
4. I was cooking dinner one night and he kept telling me that Meg needed her firebox. I couldn't figure out what he was talking about until I peeked into the living room to see him trying to give Meg her pacifier. That is now the new nickname for her pacifier!
5. And the funniest thing of all is what he is doing right now. He is taking a nap in Meg's crib! I kept telling him that it was time to take a nap and he crawled in her crib and asked if he could sleep there. I said I didn't care because I actually thought this was a new tactic to delay taking a nap. But...5 minutes later he was sound asleep!

Brody always hated to be swaddled so I haven't been doing it with Meg, but Bryson tried it the other night and she loved it. So last night I did it and she fell asleep on her floor gym at 8:45 and slept until 12:45 (no I didn't leave her on the floor that long...I put her in her bed).
I still can't tell about her hair. Here it looks red. I have even had a couple of people say that it might have some curl to it. That would be even more shocking than two of my kids having red hair! I would love it though!
Loving her bathtime! We love this bathtub....it is great (thanks Kendy)!
Thiss is after the firebox incident. They love each other all ready!
One of my attempts to get a good enough picture for a birth announcement. Still hasn't happened!

Yea a new post! I'm telling you I'm obsessed! :)
I love, love, love, love, love the picture of Meg sleeping on her boppy and smiling. I think you should put that one on her announcements...I'm not kidding!

You've got a good looking family, Ilena! I love the firebox for the paci. That is really funny.
You are doing such a good job keeping the blog updated. Super mom, I tell you!
Love, love the picture of Brody in the crib! That is so sweet! I think it is interesting how you all are trying to figure out what color Meg's hair is...we are the same way with Lauren Margaret...it came out kind of dark, then looked light, but in pictures it looks red! I don't think it will be red, but I'm perplexed at what color to call it...hmmm...anyhoo...we'll just have to wait until it grows a little to tell. Meg sure is growing! I can't wait to hold her and get some cute pics with all out babies in March! Take care!
