The Great State Fair of Oklahoma

It has always been a tradition in my family to go to the State Fair and see Disney on Ice. So last Sunday we headed up there with mom, Kena, Matt, Hannah, and Huston. It is always fun for Brody to get to spend time with them and I love seeing him with his cousins. They hadn't seen each other in a week and so when we got out of the car they ran to each other and gave big hugs. Huston and Brody rode pretty happily in the wagon and only had a couple of unhappy moments during the very long day. After we ate we headed to Kiddie Land for them to ride some of the rides. As you can see from the pictures Brody insisted that Kena (or KK as he likes to call her) ride every ride with him. She was a trooper! Her kids on the other hand were perfectly happy riding the rides by themselves!

After riding the rides mom, Kena, and I took the kids to watch High School Musical on Ice. Not that High School Musical was something Brody had any interest in, but going to Disney on Ice is just what we do. They actually loved it and sat still through the whole thing. For anyone who has ever been to something like this you know to prepare yourself for the outrageous prices on souvenirs, food, drinks, etc. I had decided going into it that I would let Brody pick out one thing. He picked out a pair of red light up sunglasses. He tried wearing them, but they were just way too big and he kept getting frustrated. Kena took them to try to exchange them for something of equal price and the guy gave her this big silver chain necklace with a light up charm hanging off of it. Brody was happy. Huston wanted cotton candy and it came with a glittery silver hat. The kind little girls wear when they tap dance. Brody loved the hat and somehow convinced mom to buy another deal of cotton candy (even though Brody doesn't eat cotton candy) just so he could have the hat. Huston and Brody ended up riding around in the wagon the rest of the afternoon wearing their hats and fighting over the silver necklace. The necklace ended up getting broke as they fought over it! I love this picture of mom, Brody, and Huston at High School Musical. It was completely dark when I took it and it looks like she is really getting onto him for something, which would never really happen!

The last thing we did before leaving was let the kids be farmers for the day. They really enjoyed it and don't they look so cute!
