The Boys Club: No Girls Allowed

Bryson was in Texas for a few days last week and when he came back, it was as if him and Brody decided to form their own little boys club and no girls (meaning me) were allowed. I guess it really started at McAlister's Deli. Brody had picked out the booth he wanted to sit in. I always sit by him, so I tried to take my usual seat and he told me that he didn't want me to sit by him. So I sat by Bryson instead. Since I hadn't seen Bryson in a few days either, I was anxious to talk to him about a number of things. Somehow all he wanted to do was play with the hot wheels cars Brody had. So, I tried to join in on the fun while we were waiting for our food and Brody told me that I wasn't allowed to play with the cars. I finally asked him if he just wanted me to move to another table and leave them alone and he said yes and pointed to another table that he thought would work perfect for me. Don't think I moved though! I am glad they have their own special bond. And, of course, there are plenty of times that Brody prefers me over Bryson and doesn't want Bryson to do certain things for him. But, is what I find particularly funny, is that he already knows what are "guy" things. He only wrestles with Bryson, he won't let me throw the football to him anymore, cars were meant to be played with daddy, etc. It is cute and annoying all at the same time! Another reason why I think this next baby needs to be a girl. We find out on Thursday!

Here is a picture of Bryson cutting Brody's hair!

And a picture of them watching football together. It was Brody's idea to put the chair up there. He just can't get enough of watching football, in person or on TV.

Brody and I were in charge of reserving our tailgating spot last Friday. This involves getting to the spot across from the OU stadium around 10:20 am and sitting there until noon when they will actually allow you to rope off your spot. I always feel like we are involved in a weird version of a land run. We came prepared this time and had a picnic. He enjoyed watching the cars drive by and spitting water in the grass.

Once we finally got the ok to mark off our spot Brody attempted to help me hammer the stakes in

This was taken on Saturday at the actual tailgate. This is Brody's friend Sterling. His he cute or what? They had a good time together. We hung out for about 5 hours so Brody and I ventured over to the Student Union. We ended up getting to see a great band perform and the Pride of Oklahoma. Brody just sat and watched in awe! I didn't get very good pictures on Saturday, Brody decided he didn't like the camera that day. Maybe next week!

Bryson and Brody at the tailgate. Bryson ended up taking Brody to the game with him while I went home and watched the game with Whitney and Carolina. They made it through halftime and then decided to leave before the rain started....what a smart move. All Brody could talk about was how daddy and him ran in the rain to the car and it was funny!

On Sunday my mom had all of the family over to her house for a cook-out. My dad talked us all into taking a picture and I think it turned out great. Anytime you can get four kids to sit still by each other and actually smile, is what I consider a minor miracle!

Dad put up a net for people to play volleyball/badminten net. Brody and Huston found these rackets and were having such a good time with them, until Huston accidently hit Brody in the eye with one of them.

This was the best picture I could get of the damage. It looked pretty bad Sunday night, but by Monday the swelling had gone down. He ended up tripping on Monday and hitting his chin on the corner of a futon so he know has bruises on both sides of his face. If bumps, bruises, and scrapes are an indication of how fun your weekend was....Brody had a blast!!!
