The Birthday Boy

Brody turned 3 on the 19th and we celebrated with a party at the Orr Family Farm on Saturday. He had been a little sick on Friday so I was worried how the party would go, but it was wonderful. He is finally at the age where he was so excited about his party and the fact that his friends and family were going to the farm with him. He was also looking forward to his cake and presents! I just have to say how proud I was of him during the whole party. He rode the ponies, visited the animal barn, and rode the train and loved every minute of it! When it was time to do the cake he blew out all 3 of the candles by himself and then actually ate a piece of cake. This was the first time he has ever touched one of his birthday cakes. I think maybe this was because it was a monster truck cake! He then got to open his presents with daddy's help. He kept wanting to play with the presents he received and Bryson kept reassuring him that he would get to play with them at home. He told everyone thank you and seemed very excited about each gift (minus the clothes). The cutest part was when we brought out his bicycle and he took the blanket off of it. The first thing he said, "Is it mine"? I think he has been to so many other birthday parties where other kids have received bikes and I always say that one is not yours. He wanted to make sure before he got on it!! We got all of the presents out of their packages after the party (thanks to Uncle Matt) and Brody has been pretty content every since.

I think this constantly, but each birthday I am reminded of it even more. Bryson and I are so blessed to have such a wonderful little boy. We think Brody is fantastic and we know how lucky we are to have him. We also know how blessed we are to have such wonderful friends and family who love Brody so much. We certainly know that with this great blessing comes great responsibility and we take that very seriously.

Hannah with what I consider to be the ugliest pig I have ever seen

Really checking out his presents!

The Davis Family....are those boys cute or what?
Brody with his "Blue Thunder" monster cake. He loved it!
This may be the sweetest picture ever. They have such a love/hate relationship. They will always be the brother that the other one never had. They later tried to choke each other over a car. I couldn't believe Brody actually petted the animals. He is usually very reserved about stuff like that. I don't think he was as impressed with the goats since he gets to see those at his PaPa's house!
I love pictures of Bryson and Brody together. Could two people look more alike?
Pulling the train whistle. He liked this part a little too much!
A rare picture of Bumpy, since he is the one usually taking the pictures.
The whole birthday party
Riding the carousel with MiMi
My friends from work and their adorable baby boys! If I ever talk about my mean awful boss she is the one in gray....just kidding Kendy! She is actually the best boss ever to work for!Brody's wonderful babysitter, Annie!
Brody thought it would be more fun to have daddy push him around the house in the dump truck Uncle Nick got him. If you could have seen what happened the next time around the house you would have seen Bryson jamming his foot underneath the fridge and tearing a hole in his tennis shoe....ouch!
Dressing up in the cowboy clothes from Aunt B!
Nothing like wearing a toolbelt with your underwear!

The final birthday hooray was going to see monster trucks at the State Fair. Gran B and Aunt B were troopers who went with us. This is their second monster truck show to attend with Brody. You know people really love your kid when they will sit threw a white trash monster truck show with you! Gran B bought him the racing flag and he has played with that so much, including harassing poor Rosco with it. I think Brody doesn't understand why Rosco doesn't go when he says "Mark, Set, Go" and drops the flag.

I'm impressed with how many pictures you posted...how long did that take? I probably get fed up too quickly.

That looked like a wonderful party! Where did you get that cake. It looks awesome.

I just wanted to say that Lilly and I enjoyed getting to visit with you and Brody the other day.

If you ever have a lunch break from work, I would be happy to fix you lunch sometime! Come visit whenever you have a chance.

You always have such fun ideas for birthday parties. I bet Brody loved it. Thanks for calling the other day. Sorry I don't do so well with the communication part most of the time.
