It's a girl!!!!
I had the ultrasound yesterday, with both Bryson and Brody in tow, and it was clear as day (to Bryson and the ultrasound lady) that it is a girl. I can never tell anything from the ultrasounds even though they have it up on a huge flatscreen. I am very excited, just not surprised. I have thought all along that it was a girl. Bryson keeps saying that he is excited for me and that he is happy, but I know deep down he would have liked for it to have been another boy. Brody, well, he doesn't really care. I think he is a little confused by it all.
Everything looked wonderful with the baby. She is measuring great and all things seem to be perfect. After the ultrasound lady left the room to show the pictures to the doctor she came back and said she needed to do a vaginal ultrasound. At which point Bryson and Brody hit the door pretty quick. I guess the pictures looked like the placenta was close to the cervix. Who knew that it wasn't supposed to be? So she did the other ultrasound and then the doctor came in. Sure enough, the placenta is covering my cervix. I asked what this meant and he said that it would mean I would have a C-Section. Which, since I had one with Brody, I am having one anyway. He still said that it is something that needs to be watched. Hopefully it will move. I go back in 10 weeks for another ultrasound. I guess it puts me at a higher risk for bleeding and a higher risk pregnancy if it stays this way. So, I am just hoping for the placenta to start a moving.
Other big news is that Brody has been wearing underwear all week. Getting him potty trained and sleeping through the night are my two goals before the next baby arrives. I think we will quickly accomplish the first goal. The second one I think we are about to give up on. He has done great going out places and hasn't had any accidents since the first day. But, he has refused to go poop. He doesn't want to go in his underwear, as his says, that would be "gross". But, he doesn't want to go on the toilet either. So he has been holding it instead...not a good option. He has made himself miserable. I am hoping he will get over this soon.
Sorry I have no pictures. If anyone has any name suggestions for a girl (first or middle) I would love to hear them. The only option right now is Meg.

I was wondering when you'd get the big announcement up!! And, I was wondering if Meg was still on the short list...I remember you telling me about liking that name long before you found out Brody was a boy.
Dear Ilena and Bryson,
I like the name Meg Carolina. Carolina is the name of Bryson's Great Great Grandmother on the Strom side.
I love reading your blog!
Love,
Mom B
I have good news and bad news. The good news is that Haylee would never sleep through the night either, but as soon as the baby was born, she magically did. Hopefully that will happen with you. The bad news is that potty training could possibly be ongoing. Although Blake doesn't have accidents anymore, its because I have to MAKE him go (kicking and screaming) in the evenings. Its hard but its something we constantly have to stay on top of. He did the same thing as Brody did, with the holding it. Just don't put him back in diapers or he'll regress with the peeing part. Its tough, but I know you can handle it.
PS: I think Allison is a fabulous name. :-)
I still love the name Molly, but I know that it's a no in your house as it is in mine. Sigh.
I'm so excited to buy girly things!! You tell that baby to stay healthy and when she gets here I will spoil her!
Hmm...when is it officially time to talk about a shower?
