It's no secret that I have always been a fan of the library and the many activities they offer. We frequent storytime and love going to play and check out books. But typically we do all of this at the Norman branch! But here lately the Moore branch has added a lot of different activities and we participated in 3 of them during the month of February!
The first was the Barks and Books program. You sign up for a 15 minute slot and you can read to a dog. Its a great opportunity for kids who are a bit more shy about reading out loud to get more comfortable without worrying about someone correcting them (since dogs just quietly listen). Brody was very excited about this!
He zoomed through 3 books and then spent the rest of the time petting the two service dogs!
I think next time Meg will sign up so she can "read" to them too!
The next week they hosted a Fancy Nancy tea party. We tried to go last year but it filled up too quickly! Meg got all dressed up in her fanciest outfit!
Anxiously waiting for story time to begin. They read the original Fancy Nancy book and then had an instructor teach the girls some ballet moves and then they danced to a few songs.
They had a few crafts set up as well as mini cupcakes and punch! It was so fun!
The next day was a Super Hero Party. And as much fun as the Tea Party was they both agreed that the Super Hero Party was the best! Meg squeezed into her Wonder Woman costume that she wore when she was 1 and Brody went as Spider Man!
Check out those muscles!
They had the cutest craft where you could make a super hero bookmark out of a popsicle stick. I was shocked by how many of these they did and how much effort they both put into making them!
They both made "power" cuffs too!
They also had a cute photo booth, obstacle course, some games, and hulk punch and cupcakes! You can't beat fun and free afternoon activities!!!
