Blah!

I am so thankful that my kids don't get sick very often.  Now I know they each have their own issues with allergies and asthma and stomach junk, but I am so thankful that they have good immune systems and that they don't typically pick up all the junk that goes around school.   I constantly pray that they stay healthy.  But the month of February turned out to be our month to get all the junk!

First up it was Brody and the most horrible, itchy rash ever!  It was so bad that it was waking him up at night and he scratched at it all day long.  We first visited our pediatricians office and the medicine they gave us immediately helped it but then a few days later it all came back.  I decided to take him to a dermatologist and she said it was just really bad ezcema probably as a result of the allergies he has.  We made a lot of changes to our soaps and lotions and got some more medicine which helped it initially too, but unfortunately it is still something that is there that he has to deal with!
Then it was a fever and a nasty cold that Meg got that I worried was the flu.  Thankfully it was not.  She had so much drainage that it made her throw up a number of times.

Then the Monday after the Daddy Daughter Dance the stomach bug hit.  I think it may have been the first stomach bug she has had and it was awful.  This is what she did for 5 days.  She never complained or even asked for anything.  She just wanted to be held in between throwing up and having diarrhea.  Sweet baby girl threw up from Monday until Friday.  Just awful!

Afer a few days of this we got so worried about her being dehydrated that we took her to Urgent Care.  She was thankfully fine and they prescribed some Zofran which was what ended up making her start to feel better!
By Friday morning she was feeling a little perkier and that's when it hit Brody.  He started throwing up that morning and was sick until Sunday.  He was as lethargic as I have ever seen him.  He laid on the couch for two days straight.  So sad to see them sick but I sure loved all the cuddle time!  By Tuesday we were all 100% and back among the living.  It always feels so good to get out of the house after being cooped up for so long!

And since then we have just been dealing with more mysterious rashes.  This one on his hand and chest I guess were the result of his stomach virus and just a few days ago he had the most random triangle rash with 3 dots in the middle on his chest.  So strange.

I despise allergies, ezcema, and rashes.  Can't stand any of them.  But I am so thankful for my two healthy kiddos and realize their minor little issues are nothing compared to what so many others have struggle with.
