San Antonio Spring Break

While Bryson was in Haiti over Spring Break serving as an adult sponsor for our church University Mission Trip (more to come on that), me and the kids loaded up and headed south to San Antonio with Mimi, KK, Uncle Matt, Hannah, and Huston.  After an extremely pleasant car ride we checked into the Hyatt Hill Country Resort.  Of course the first things the kids wanted to do was head to the pool!  The water was heated and it was warm outside so it was a great day for swimming.  The pools at the hotel were amazing and they were all connected with a lazy river!
All the swimming made her hungry!
There was a great sandy beach area right by a big shallow pool.
After an unpleasant dinner out we headed back to make smores!  It was raining so they did them inside!  The kids loved it!
It stormed all night so we weren't sure what we were going to do the next morning.  We originally planned to swim but we thought it might be too cold so we decided to get around an head to Sea World!  The kids were pumped and took one of many goofy pictures that trip!
Killing time waiting for it to open!
A moment of sweetness!
During all that waiting we were able to really look over the map and the schedule of activities for the day.  We had a good game plan and headed straight to the dolphins.  You could pay to feed them and let's just say we dropped quite a bit of money on fish for these cute guys!
It was moments like these that I was wishing I had Bryson with me.  I was having a hard time getting the kids close enough to pet them, while managing to get the fish in their mouths, and trying to capture it on camera!  This was by far our favorite activity of the day.  So fun to get so up close to them!

After a couple of rides, including a crazy roller coaster that Hannah, Mimi, and I were dumb enough to go on, a Sea Lion show, and a visit to the penguins it was time for the big event!  The Shamu show!
It was a neat show, but not my favorite.  The kids talked us into sitting in the "Splash Zone" and boy did a couple of us get wet.  Thankfully Matt had Meg and scooted out of there quick!
KK was the lucky one to get to ride the ferris wheel with Meg!
Eating a hot dog while riding the carousel.  Doesn't get much better than that!  There was barely anyone at Sea World that day which meant the kids got to ride all the rides over and over again.  They loved that!
A quick stop for dipping dots before the Beluga Whale show.  It was by far the best show.  Very entertaining!
We saved the water ride until the end of the day and I am so glad we did.  We rode this raft ride and one other and most of us were completely soaked!!!
That night we showed up a little early for smores and this is what these 3 ended up doing.  They were having so much fun gradually inching themselves in until they were practically swimming.  We didn't mind them doing it but as more people showed up for smores more kids wanted to participate and their parents weren't so thrilled with the swimming with your clothes on.  Such party poopers :)  So we made them get out.

You can see how that went over!
Someone was tired after her long day!
Cuddle time with Hannah watching the Ipad!

Cuddle time didn't last long.  Soon it was time to play guns with the boys!

Mimi and her crew!
They got a little energy out running around playing chase before they headed to the pool!
It was a tad chilly out so swim time didn't last long before we headed to the Riverwalk!
Vacations are more fun when you get to go with your cousins!
This how taking pictures of these two goes.
I love this look on Meg's face.  She had just noticed that two Asian women were taking a picture of her.  They kept taking more pictures and Meg wasn't thrilled!  So funny!
Then we went on a water taxi.  We had the most talkative, yet boring, guide ever. It was pure torture.  Of course Matt and Mom thought it was so interesting and Kena and I couldn't wait for it to be over!
So happy that we had Matt to take over Bryson's job of carrying Meg on his shoulders!
When did a little shopping and I was so impressed when Meg spotted these chairs and said Papa's chair.  Papa and Nana wear Life is Good clothes all the time and she recognized the logo and thought of them!
Back at the resort it was more play time in the sand!

Then Mimi and I took the kids to watch the Winni the Pooh movie on the front lawn so Matt and Kena could have a little date night.  The kids loved the movie and popcorn and I loved getting to cuddle on the lawn with my four favorite kiddos!
The next morning while we packed up Hannah and Meg played beauty shop!
 Another one of her faces!
 Elevator rides are exciting!
One last time on the playground before heading home!  We had such a wonderful time and we will certainly be going back to the Hyatt Hill Country!
