On the Tuesday evening after Memorial Day the kids and I loaded up and headed for Mimi and Bumpy's house. We were flying out of Dallas the next day to head to Florida and we decided to get an hour closer to the airport. Bryson wasn't going to be able to make it on this trip but the kids still really wanted to see their Nana and Papa so I decided to take them on my own. But at 9:00 p.m. that night he called me after having dinner with his boss and said that he was coming with us. His boss told him that he should spend time with his family and that he was going to fire him if he didn't go with us :). So thankful that he has a boss that places such value on family! He had changed all of the flights himself and had cancelled all of his appointments for the rest of the week. It was seriously the best surprise ever. Everything is more fun with him and that was certainly true of this trip!

The kids slept hard that night and were so excited when Bryson showed up the next morning!
It always makes me smile to see what pros they are in the airport!
And even though everyone was excited that Bryson came with us this was my view on the plane. He was all by himself!
And I was sandwiched in between these two!
We had some issues trying to land because of some storms and another plane not being able to take off. But we made it safe and sound!
On our way!
We headed out to a new restaurant that night and enjoyed playing on the beach while we waited for our table. We took this picture to send to Bryson's boss!
The next morning they couldn't wait to hit the beach!
Our annual picture. Hope I can take this of them when they are in High School!
She wasn't digging the waves that day and her goggles had a bit of a crack in them so she spent most of her time on the beach! But she looked the part of surfer girl!
Brody on the other hand was all about the water and waves!
They loved snack time with Papa!
You can't really see him but Brody insisted on being dropped off at the entry of their neighborhood each time we got back so he could run to their house!
The next day it was their favorite day.....Crab Island day!
Meg had a little cuddle time with Charlotte before we left!
We spent a good 5 minutes watching a ton of ants move a huge chip. I never knew we could be so fascinated with ants but it was seriously impressive how fast they moved that chip!
Dolphin Watching was a success!
The water was so clear when we got there!
One of the best things about the trip was that night our friends the Briscoes happened to be going through Destin on their way to Miami and we all met for dinner at the most delicious Mexican restaurant. It was so fun to meet up with them and I got lots of snuggles with sweet Emma that night. Unfortunately I did not get a picture!
The next morning everyone who doesn't get sea sick went out fishing so it was just me and the kiddos! We went back to the beach and this time Meg had new goggles and she was all about the waves!
And the jellyfish
When Bryson got done fishing he met us at the Surf Hut for a late lunch! Meg loved these surfboard chairs!
This was our view from our table. I loved that I could keep an eye on her while we ate!
That night the four of us headed to Baytowne. Another favorite. The kids and I knocked out the zipline and the ropes course pretty quick and then it was the bungee trampoline!
Her freckles are one of my favorite things about her!
And his annoyed face is one of my favorite faces he makes!
Sunday was our last day and we headed to the beach for one last swim!
Then we headed back to load up our stuff and say our final goodbyes!
Another fun trip in the books!
