In July we were excited to go on our annual trip to visit Nana and Papa in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida! It's fun getting to spend a few nights with them and of course it's always nice to get to be at the beach! Since Brody is a little older now he got to do a few new things!
Like scalloping!
This was a fun day trip for the boys and I heard they had a great time. And we all got to enjoy the scallops they caught that night!
While the boys were scalloping us girls went shopping and then to Uncle Bucks. Such a fun place and we all loved bowling!
Sweet Charlotte received lots of loving the week we were there!
Beach ready!
So I was a little bummed that the first few days we were there that there was an insane amount of seaweed. I really don't like seaweed. Thankfully the kids didn't seem to mind it!
I managed to find one little piece of beach that was seaweed free!
Papa and Nana have quiet the beach setup!
Such beautiful sunsets!
Our favorite day is always when we go out on the boat to crab island!
I love that it is so shallow and the water is just beautiful! Perfect for snorkeling and swimming!
And its awesome people watching too since there are so many boats docked around!
What was extra fun this year was that when we were out riding in the boat and fishing we spotted dolphins!
I love how much they love the outdoors and especially the ocean!
Dolphin watching with Nana
Meg was happy to help Papa with some of the catches from the day!
Those purple sparkly bottoms are my favorite!
What a day at crab island will do to a girl!
That night we headed to Baytowne Wharf. Another favorite!
We took advantage of the trampoline line by taking pictures!
This year Bryson was the chosen one to go up on the ropes course! And it was Meg's first time!
She pretty much rocked it!
Brody flew through it so fast and rang that bell in no time. Poor Meg was too short to reach the bell but she made it up there!
The trampolines were definitely the hit with both kids this year!
They both managed to do flips and Meg did a double!
Papa does volunteer work keeping hiking trails in Florida in tip top shape. One day he took us on one of his walking trails. It is absolutely beautiful!
And secluded. I'm not sure I would be walking those trails by myself!
After lunch at another one of my favorites, Red Bay Grocery, we went to a natural springs to swim.
Once again it was so beautiful. But it was so painfully cold that it was hard to swim!
She gave up swimming and instead just did the mermaid thing!
Brody was having a good time jumping off the rock platform and convinced Papa to show us all that he's still got it!
One evening we went down to the bay for dinner and then went on a nice walk! A storm was definitely coming in!
I love me some sunset pictures!
The kids found a few more activities they couldn't pass up!
Of course our last morning there was the most beautiful one!
The kids librarian had asked the kids to submit photos of them reading over the summer. So we pretended to read. Right after this a huge wave soaked them and their books!
Brody perfected boogie boarding this summer
Another wonderful family vacation in the books!
Brody had begged us to let him stay with Papa and Nana a few extra days. So he stayed and then him and Papa flew home a few days later! Brody had to help Papa navigate his way through the airport. He loved his special time with them.
And we loved having Papa stay with us for 5 nights! We had a blast! This was the 3 of them during movie night!
Papa brought Meg the shells from the scallops!
