Don't judge how horrible the sprinkled pancakes turned out. It was a rushed morning! She liked them and loved blowing out the candle that was on them!
She had school that day and wore the shirt my sweet friend Christi made! Isn't it the cutest? She had snack and show and tell that day. She took donut holes and string cheese to share with her friends and took the baton Carolina got her as her show and tell item!
After I picked her up from school we ate a little lunch and then picked Brody up a little early and headed to the zoo! The zoo is one of her favorite places and it happened to be a beautiful day out. It was so much fun! Our favorite part was seeing the Baby Elephant, Mallee, taking a swim!
She sported her Gingerbread birthday crown the entire time!
Was so impressed with her monkey bar skills. In addition to hanging like this she made it the entire way across with no help! She learns a lot at school!
We ended our time at the zoo with dippin dots!
That night when Bryson got home we surprised her with her present from us. She closed her eyes tight while Bryson brought it in!
I wouldn't say she loved her new scooter but I know that she will like it more once the weather warms up!
And because I just can't resist adding all the little things about Meg at 4 here goes........
*She continues to spend the majority of her time making things! She loves wrapping paper, paper, glue, scissors, and TAPE! We go through rolls and rolls of scotch tape around here. She draws things, cuts them out, and then either tapes them all over our house or she wraps them in her rolls of wrapping paper and gives them to people as presents. We recently spent a morning delivering these wrapped gifts to her friends. It is always so sweet when people act so excited by the treasures she makes!
*She loves to read books and can sit still for a good long time listening to books. Current favorites are Pinkalicious and Fancy Nancy!
*Still loves music and requests Taylor Swift every time we get in the car!
*Her appetite has suddenly got so crazy. She used to rarely ever asks for snacks or really food in general. Now she wakes up starving and it seems like she stays hungry all day long! Thankfully she has started enjoying bananas, strawberries, apples, and avacados again! And she could eat yogurt and cheese all day long.
*I still love comparing how different her and Brody are. Obviously a lot of it is the gender difference but a lot of it is also personality differences. She is so independent and if I try to come up with a structured activity (like an art project or a learning activity) it will hold her attention for about 2 minutes and then she figures out a way to do something entirely different with the materials. Brody would've never done that. He is a "stick to the rules" guy and Meg is totally a "let's color outside the lines" kind of girl. She gets distracted very easily from what she originally starts off doing because one thing will make her think of something else. I love that she is so imaginative and creative but it can be exhausting. She reminds of that book "If you give a mouse a cookie".
*Her love for our dog Rosco has really grown lately. If he is in the same room with her she is always loving on him. They cuddle in my bed every morning while she watches cartoons.
*She has suddenly become the most affectionate child ever. Our close friends and our family have certainly noticed. I have no idea what happened. She can't seem to give enough hugs to people and often times almost knocks people over running and hugging them. And when she hugs she really squeezes and holds on for a long time. It is the sweetest thing ever!
*Her favorite shows are Max and Ruby and Team Umizoomi!
*She is in that stage that even when she knows the right answer to something she loves to make up something crazy to say instead of the right answer. She's been doing this to her Bible class teachers a lot lately!
*She's a game playing fool. She asks to play games all day long and since I love to play games too that's what we do. And she wins almost every single time. We played 8 rounds of Zingo the other day and she won every one! Her favorite is Candy Land!
*She loves to help me. If she hears me in the kitchen she almost always runs in there and asks to help. She's a pro at mixing things, rolling dough into balls, icing things, and working the toaster!
*Sometimes when she is following behind me a little too close or sitting a little too close while I am trying to work on something I will tell her that she doesn't have to be right on me and her response is always, "But I just love you so much". Its so sweet and sincere!
*She hates to say she is sorry
*She loves to do things that makes her brother crazy!
*She does everything with a lot of intensity. It can be exhausting but I know that God will use this for amazing things!
