Smores and Garden of The Gods

After finishing up our dinner at Fargo's we headed up to the resort balcony to make smores! The kids had never had smores before so they were super excited!

Brody took care of the cooking part
And Meg took care of the eating. I love that the resort offered fun little things like this!
The next day we were up and at em early. After enjoying a yummy breakfast at Panera Bread we headed for Garden of the Gods. In my original planning I didn't think this would be one of the things we did, but after a quick drive through it the day before I knew we had to squeeze it in. And I am so glad we did because it ended up being my favorite thing!
The views are just amazing. We found out within 5 minutes of being there that Brody is a crazy, amazing rock climber. He had no fear and we couldn't even keep up with him. At one point him and Bryson were climbing up and around the big rock by the entrance. Bryson stopped to tie his shoe and when he looked up Brody was gone. Within those few seconds he had raced to the top, gone around the rock, and was back at the bottom waiting for Bryson by the street.
Are these amazing or what???
Glad it didn't decide to tip over on them!
After a lot of climbing and walking this is how the kids decided to get around!

Mimi and Bumpy enjoyed this adventure too!
Little Miss didn't want to be outdone by Brody. She did plenty of climbing too!
Love this little guy! It was so fun to see him so completely happy and enjoying nature. There is nothing he loves more than being outside!
That night Bryson and I got all fancied up to head to my friend Sarah's wedding! This was the main reason we went to Colorado Springs and brought my parents along with us. The wedding was beautiful and so sweet. And the reception was so much fun. One of the most fun receptions I have been to. We had a great time catching up with friends from college and with Sarah's family. So happy for her, but so sad that I didn't get any pictures of the wedding or of her in her beautiful dress! But that's how much fun we were having....completely forgot about the camera! And a big thanks to Mimi and Bumpy for taking care of the kiddos!
