While we are never happy for summer to end both kids were at least pretty happy and excited about the first day of school! Hard to believe I have a 3rd grader and a Kindergartener! Meet the Teacher Night had been very successful and I was very pleased with both of the kids teachers!
All smiles!
And since we already have a 9 weeks behind us I thought I would go ahead and do an update on how things are going! I am still very happy with both of the kid's teachers. I am pretty sure I couldn't have hand picked a better teacher for Brody. She is seriously the best teacher for him that there ever could be. She is so fun and makes everything so interactive, she's organized and structured, so sweet and caring, and doesn't yell! And he is excelling in her class like he never has in any other class. It's been so amazing to see and to see him love it all so much. And he has had great teachers every year there is just something about this year that it seems like everything has finally clicked! He is finally loving reading chapter books and doing so well on all of his tests! I just love that is happy and loving school! In addition to how he is at school I have also seen so many other changes in my sweet boy. He has always been so good but it just seems like he has become so mature! He is so helpful and thoughtful! He is always so good to tell me thank you for even the littlest thing. I feel like he really appreciates that I get to stay home with them and take them to school and pick them up! He constantly asks questions and his mind is always going (his teacher has mentioned this as well). He still prefer to always be outside if given the choice and he loves playing football with his neighborhood friends and he takes Annie out every morning to play fetch with her! He loves watching all the NFL and college football games and all the Football Life episodes on former NFL players. And he loves military shows that he probably shouldn't be allowed to watch but they sure don't seem to scare him! I just love him to pieces!
And Meg has just flourished in Kindergarten like I knew she would. She loves going all day and she gives me the run down on all of the fun stuff she does every day as well as who she played with and what kids were naughty (thankfully it's never been her)! She is definitely the happiest when she is busy doing things and school keep her very busy! It has been so sweet to see her be friends with all the little girls in her class. I love what a good friend she is to others. She is generous and kind! And even though you would think she would be exhausted after school she almost never is. She comes home and immediately starts crafting. I didn't know a child could spend so much time coloring, gluing, painting, and cutting! That just never was an interest of mine. She loves for me to pin things on Pinterest for her and then I just show her a picture and she creates it. I finally got smart and put all her random craft supplies where they were easy for her to get! When she isn't creating then she is singing or dancing. That really is about her only two interests lately. She is crazy over the new Taylor Swift CD and pretty much already knows all the words to all the songs! We have had lots of fun dance parties! I love her and how creative and fun she is and how happy she is!
So thankful for another school year that is off to a wonderful start and for two happy and healthy kiddos!
